Hi, Scooter, glad you are enjoying the book.
I do not B2 the games. I'm always working on four or five other things at the same time and can't take the time to watch so I listen.
Michel Beausoleil signing with Muskegon sure was interesting, wasn't it Big John?

Blake. I think the IHL should look into that signing. seems like it was announced before the league even approved his contract. Plus. I think this is ramseys way of trying to screw the Komets. lol
He's a good player if he can get on the right line.

Blake, got a question Friday when bouch got hurt and Tim was sent in, what would have happened if tim also got hurt and neither could play. I know Duffus was at the game with his son, but what do you do in that situation?

The Komets announced Woods signing before the league approved it, too. I'm not sure the league HAS approved it even yet.

Big John was right on about RBS.
That leaves us one more guy that he predicted.......hope that guy is healthy.
Beauselei is a dirty little nutjob. I wish he would have ran head on into Mac last night. He needed a beating.

Blake. But I had the understanding that the Komets have yet to sign Woods. It was just a gentlemens agreement and that he's still free to sign with anyone else after today. So really,Woods will acually be a free agent starting Monday. am i right?

The reporters just asked Tom Brady about the crowd booing them....he said "I would have been booing too, the way we played today, the fans paid to see us play, they have that right, and they booed us, we deserved it."
Interesting......I think he has it right on.

I'm back... Scooter I wondered about that too. I know in baseball teams have an "emergency catcher", a regular position player who is willing to put on the catcher's gear if the regular catchers are all hurt. Is there such a thing in hockey? BLB and I were joking that it was a good thing that Duffus was there in case we needed him!

Rule 5.3: In the event that the two regular goalkeepers are injured in quick succession, the third goalkeeper shall be provided with a reasonable amount of time to get dressed, in addition to a two-minute warm-up (except when he enters the game to defend against a penalty shot).
I'm not sure if that means a skater has to dress as a goaltender or if they can call one out of the stands. I know they used to be able to call one out of the stands years ago. I don't know if that rule has changed or not.

Woods had already signed a contract over the summer. This is the same contract. I don't know if the Komets have turned it into the league yet because that might require he be put on the active roster.

Well just in case, when we get Woodsy back, if that happens we can put him in, since he played goalie in a hockey tournament last month. And he also said he didnt know why Bouch complained all the time, cuz all you do is stand their haha

Now there'd be a fan promotion... enter to win a chance to be the emergency goaltender! If your seat number is called you've got two minutes to get your butt down to the locker room and get dressed!

I would imagine a skater would have to dress as goaltender. You can't give the home team an advantage just because they might have somebody sitting in the stands. Wouldn't be fair to the road team. I'm checking it.

Comparing Schrock with Laird is a good call Blake. Robbie was one tough dude...wouldn't have thought of that because Lincoln isn't as filled out, but it's a great comparison.
Really enjoying watching this team come together. My almost seven year old son noticed some things that had me laughing out loud:
--Dad, PC looks like he's actually trying. Did you see him go into the corner after the puck?
--Dad, what's wrong with Chaulk? Why's he shooting and scoring goals instead of passing?
And in my proudest moment, when Schrock scored the empty netter, he yelled out "Hat Trick!" (Gordie style, of course)
I especially enjoying watching the goalie and defensemen, and they each are getting better and better. I love how Bert simply moves people from in front of the net into the boards by tying them up with his stick and just riding them off the play. I'm in shock he doesn't get more penalties called against him. His +/- is amazing for the lack of respect he seems to get, especially on message boards.
Couple of questions for you Blake. Not necessarily in the IHL, but what does an average minor league hockey player make in a season in cash salary, and then housing and meals? How would that compare to a "star" minor league player. Don't want to ask about specific Komets...just curious about how a mid-level minor league hockey player can make a go of it.
Also, does some of the salary of players like T-Rob and Chaulk that are player/assistant coaches not count against the weekly cap. I know the guys work October-April (7 months), but it seems tough for anybody with a family to survive in the minors for very long. (I'm sure it beats a real job)
