The Komets announced Monday that defenseman Frankie DeAngelis has been added to the Fort Wayne defensive corps for 2010-11.
DeAngelis, 25, led Fort Wayne defensemen with 32 assists and ranked second among Komet blueliners with 41 points in 76 games last season. DeAngelis topped IHL defensmen with a plus-31 and three game-winning tallies and was named the Komets' Most Improved Player for the year. DeAngelis, named IHL Rookie of the Week on two occasions last season, earned a spot on the 2009-10 IHL All-Rookie Team. DeAngelis appeared in all 12 playoff games scoring three assists and accumulating six penalty minutes while earning the 2010 IHL Turner Cup Championship.
The Woodbridge, Ontario native skated three seasons with teammate Keith Rodger at American International from 2006 to 2009 before making his pro debut last year with Fort Wayne.

Can we stop using the phrase "Beating a dead horse"? Seriously, saying beating a dead horse so much has become like beating a dead horse. Not to beat a dead horse, but can we please stop with the "beating a dead horse" phrase?
Also, Im not sure I would give Warner all the credit for winning all of his championships. I dont have the stats in front of me, but I'm pretty sure he had teammates. Unless his last name has changed to Crosby or Ovechkin, I dont see him carrying any teams to anything.
BEAT A DEAD HORSE!
Brett Favre retiring:(
Mightbite, don't be so sure. This may just be another of his attempts to grab attention.
I'll acknowledge him being retired after the mid-way point next season.
Now back to Fort Wayne Komet hockey......
runningkomet.. i still would like to know if you have ever played the game of hockey? you really contradict yourself in your statements. your absolutely right, he has not carried them to a championship, hockey is a TEAM sport. for a TEAM to win a championship, every player has a job and a roll to fill. sometimes a player might not even see the ice in a series or championship, but still plays an important role.
brian--Don't be to hard on runningkomet..I assure you he knows the game. I think most of us knew what he was trying to say. He is a lot like me in that it is hard to type what you want to say than it is to actually say it.
brian: you just contradicted yourself. You act as if you have to play the game to know it, yet you say I should watch more to understand it...
I have played hockey. Granted, I wasn't the NHL All Star I'm sure you are, but I know enough to recognize mistakes on the ice. He doesn't always make them, but he did enough last year to drive myself and those around me insane. Well, all but one...
Which AHL team was he about to sign a contract with, Brian?
evansville=NO COACH or PLAYERS :(
franke has our team about built, now he has to get going with evansville :)
RK--I just stood up for you and you didn't need to go off like that. I think you went a little overboard. Just my opinion. Don't be to hard on me, please.
Dennis: That's why I don't stand up for other posters anymore. And as I recall, certain posters were very happy that I had sworn off defending others.
RK just publicly admitted he's insane! You all saw it in black and white, right?
Dschebig: That is not me going off, I was playing around. I do appreciate your support though.
I do like how several people here shared the same feelings, but I was seen as the only one who said anything. Oh well. Once summer ends and the Colts are 4-0, I'll be ready for some hockey!
RK--Sometime it is just better to not say anything! For me that can be extra hard but I just must do it. I respect most of the regulars on this blog. There are several who have zero common sense. I just ignore them. Most of the time you post some cool stuff. Than you go and do this. How would anyone possibly think you were "playing around"? I sure didn't!
PC only played at 70%......never heard that one. Wow.
Someone report that to Komet Warrior and the OHIC. Breaking news there.
Steve Rodberg, now there was a stud, right?
I said beatdown on the Rapid City Rushmores, not beatdowns on Mr. Ed.
Please, Please, Please, don't start the "You didn't play the game so you don't know, Bull-Crap." Blake knows how I feel about that one. That always gets my goat. And my horse.
BWs is a role player granted. If he is on this roster, he will have to play balls to the walls to make this team. Can he do that? We'll see.
RK, your first post on BWs, I all most wet myself.
Sproat knows what promotion works and the best way to welcome the CHL to the Jungle......
Beatdowns.
He is a subscriber of this blog, he is in my fan club.
PS......what did you say RK about DS??? Poor guy needs a hug it seems.
Someone call Burgee and they can both get in Snuff's K-Boose.
Mother Schebig: Thank you for the life lesson. I will cherish it always and use it to live long and prosper. Youre right, I should just let peop/e address me and not respond I guess...
Hit: I have no idea what I wrote that got him so wound up. I'd hate to hear Schebig's lectures to the players on the ice though since he's so easily offended. It's funny how he tells his stories about on-ice trashtalking, but he goes to the pulpit when people have G-rated convos on here.
Rk you are a big meany!!!
Wonder what DS thinks when Big AL drops his F-Bomb on the ice?
What is with Michael Jordan's mustache in the underwear commercial where he is on the Airplane?
Wow.
Nice signing in DeAngelis... That makes 27 D-Men signed for this coming season. I think we have defense covered; but agree with others that Warner will be announced eventually.
Come on guys..Brian is just sticking up for his brother BW like any of you would. Give him a break.
Junglemonkey, I believe it was iowa if memory serves corrrct. Blake or cohn talked about it. It was right when the hip injury was found
Come on guys! Brandon Warner is just like Craig Muni of those great 1980's Oilers teams!
Muni won three cups with Edmonton and single handed carried that team on his back.
Why who can forget that goal...errrrr that save....errrrr that shot he blocked....errrrrr well... he did lead the NHL in +/- more than once.
How come Blake is called by his first name and the other blogger is known as Cohn?
Reminds me of that great 1980's band...Darryl and Oates.
Gotta love the "You're being too sensitive" defense. God forbid anyone on here should admit that they might have crossed a line. I'm pretty sure that is one of the signs of the apocalypse.
Wendy--It does not bother me! It is opinions and we all have them. I just misjudged RK. I will not do that again. Live and learn. I'll just take my "Pink Socks" and go hide!
You guys will just have to trust me on this. The "F" bomb is really pretty mild for Al. He has used some words I had to ask what the meaning was, and I thought I had heard everything.
BW knows Jon Fitch & I know Jon Fitch, but I don't know BW :)
Did Snuffy go Hall and Oates on Blake and Justin? LMAO!
I Can't Go For That. (No can do!)
I have often wondered why I get the Cohn treatment. Seems downright snarky, no?
didn't blog yesterday so i could go beat a dead horse and i missed a lot!
Gee, Justin. Your post reminds me of my favorite Star Trek movie, "The Wrath of Cohn".
