P.C. Drouin has signed; waiting on approval from the IHL on the contract.
Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock will make his decision on Wednesday; leaning toward returning.
Mathieu Curadeau is deciding between Kalamazoo and Fort Wayne. ``Sometimes when you win one or two in a row, you take it for granted, but they definitely are not,'' Curadeau said. "It could be a great challenge and a great fit for me."
David Franke said they are getting close to re-signing NIck Boucher and Guy Dupuis.
Still talking to Matt Syroczynski, Frankie DeAngelis, Sean O'Connor and Brandon Warner. He's going to talk to Tim Haun later this week. Did not offer a contract to Mitch Woods or put him on their protected list. The Komets have had a conversation with Rob Nolan but not Larry Sterling.
``I need some answers from some guys this week," Franke said. "I think by the end of this week or next week I'll have a better idea where we stand for sure. Once we get those decisions, then maybe I can get to the point where we're just looking for younger guys to come in. I feel very comfortable with where we're at right now.''

Hoss I disagree.
Had the likes of Willie Mays and Johnny Unitas been able to write their own tickets out of town they might have played into their 50's.
Guy has been an incredible member of the Fort Wayne Komets. But he lost a step. It was plain as day last year.
So another year against what will probably be younger competition and longer travel may very well make a slowing and aging defenseman even slower.
In my opinion loyalty to a player is great to a point but when the player can no longer perform then you have to do what is best for the team.
Can Guy be a solid 3rd line defenceman? Sure. Is he willing to accept a reduced role with reduced ice time?
In my opinion if you skate him much more than that you are exposing yourself especially against the typical speed of the top lines of other teams.
I've made it no secret going into last year that I wanted a house cleaning of the team after the past season was over. I've told the powers that be this as well so kool aid and all I still have opinions that occasionally do not mesh with managements plans.
The end is near.
I just got an email from hades, the zamboni is rolling down there.
I am frightened.
I just heard an elephant taking a crap in my backyard.
yikes.
yaay!
How about we let the three time champion coach decide what Guy and when he plays instead of some imaginary character on a message board. The "I" word is on the tip of my tongue but I don't want to use it this early on.
Kometswin: Just because you are incapable of watching the Komets with an objective "eye" doesnt mean the rest of us dont... And you should know by now that calling people names on here isnt going to stop people from posting thier opinions, nor should it... Just makes you look silly in the end.
BTW, unless Kometswin is your true name, you shouldnt call others out for posting under 'imaginary' names....
In the interests of making sure facts don't get in the way of your post...
Al Sims is actually a FOUR time champion coach....
The "I" word....yay!
And who is "we"? Are you a member of the Komets organization or the coaching staff? Do you have it in your power to let the four time winning coach make these decisions?...So many questions. So little facts.
And lastly...
"coach decide what Guy and when he plays"
What Guy indeed.
I like it how you try to blast people for not having facts when you don't either, it's great. How do you know Kometswin isn't the things you say he (or she) isn't? Hypocrisy is your strong suit.
Everyone please take a step back and cool off, Snuff especially.
Rob I don't know he/she isn't which is why I asked.
Blake...Yes sir. I'll attempt to get back to my policy of ignoring what should be ignored.
Hit, I love your enthusiasm but I think we'd better just wait and see who comes to terms.
For some reason I am having a hard time thinking that the K's will be able to sign both Curadeau and Syro. I'm probably way off base but my personal opinion is that the AHL has seen both of them, neither played a whole lot while there (or on fourth lines), both finished the season at the "AA" level, and both are a year older. If money is the factor than I give the Komets a 60%-40% chance against them playing here. If stability, large crowds, and new places to play are important than I'd give the K's a 75%-25% for. If the K's do sign Dupuis and stop at three veterans than most likely they will have some money to attract these guys.
DeAngelis, Schrock, O'Connor are important, too.
