Tailing the Komets

The struggles continue

It's 2-2 after the second period. Komets have out-shot Gems 25-13, and have had more scoring opportunities, but the Gems have led 1-0 and 2-1. It seems like the Komets are always fighting the momentum in the game and so far in the season. They can't quite turn the corner, partly because it seems like they can't get all five guys working together at the same time. There's little puck support. When they get in trouble in their ow

P.S.
I'd love to see a playoff series between Port Huron and Bloomington right now. If Dayton got any kind of consistent goaltending might be a force in this league.
I also think it would be the best thing for this league 2 teams neither of which being Komets wind up in the finals this year. Other franchises need playoff runs to help with the financial bottom line and with trying to develop a long term fan base. I don't know if Port Huron would still be around had it not been for them being in the finals against the Komets. A Bloomington Port Huron final would not only be entertaining but the best thing that could happen to this league.

When the K's play that poorly in my humble oppinion I am better off saying nothing.. I know why there were no Komets out for the skate after the game. BIG closed door team meeting..I think the eqp. removal rule is #47 in the center of the rule book. Helmets and gloves do not count. Hope that helps.

Snuffy... We finally agree on something. I share your feelings about Warner.. I took a while, but I knew we'd find common ground.. Now take that stinking helmet off.. :-)

Blake, I think Leo played pretty hard all night. I'm not saying his play at the end of the game was classy at all... I think it was a bonehead move, but at least he was angry about losing. Some of the players look like they could care less. Just my opinion, feel free to take it out on me specifically. Though I do understand and agree with you, it was bush.. but at least he cares enough to be bush. Some of the guys we're already thinking about the snacks they were going to pack for the bus trip to Dayton at that point..

The name on the front is a hell of a lot more important than the one on the back... Does this team know that they all have the same one on the front? Anyways i thought P.C. looked like he was really trying to step up in the 1st period... Seemed like he was just beating everybody on the ice to the puck, and making things happen... Didn't notice too much after the 1st though...

Pretty crappy that the Komets couldn't come out after the game and skate with the fans- I don't think my kids would have got their skates on if they had know that. Closed door meeting? This crap has gone on all season. I guess they must have been tired from all of the energy they expended in the third period. If you guys think that Bertram is a fighter, get a clue. He didn't drop his gloves during the game. I think he wanted to hug the guy again and give him a stern warning. Wake up Komet fans- if the team remains in tact like this, this is what you can expect. When teams were getting better and younger last summer, we stood pat because we won the cup two years in a row. Now teams have caught up with us and we can't take it. It's called Karma. Mac got a game misconduct because he continued to beat the guy when he was down on the ice. I would imagine that some of those hits may have connected with the linesman.

must have seen a differnt game than me cause bertram did drop his gloves but was held off my a crowd and linesmen. but in the old days that wouldnt have stopped him. there were a acouple of guys on the gems who deserved to get their butts kicked but nobody stepped up. thats what bothered me the most. looks like no one other than mac is willing to put out an effort to control play. i do give pc credit cause twice he stepped up to help teammates but he istnt the guy we need to drop the gloves

I gave one of my tickets to a friend for free and left the game apologizing to him... Felt bad he had come when they played like that but the mote I thought about it I realized that's how they have played almost all season. Blake is right about the team needing something but no one knowing what the something is. I surely don't, but I think the team needs a lot, whether it be a lot of changes or a lot of heart or a lot of both.

Jon you'll notice it is ok for some to say things while others get bashed for it. Turns out there are only a few people who know hockey in FW. You say something they don't like and they will come after you. No one has really responded to you so maybe they have seen the light about Bert now. Still am lost about the nickname though? Any way you slice it though it's fun to come on and argue opinions about the Ks.

HockeyFan--It is never to late if you start winning earlly enough. My point was if you are so far down in the points that you must win 75% or 80% of your games to get back in the hunt you are for all basic numbers out of it. A month from now is the halfway point of the season. We have 13 games between now and the end of January. I think it would be it very hard to get back into the hunt if we lost 8 or 9 of those games. Please believe me I hope I am totally wrong. I really liked Mitch Woods when he played here before. I just find it hard to swallow that he is the major piece that is missing. Some of the other guys have hit home runs with their posts.I just refuse to bad mouth any of the players vets, rookies or tweeners. Please understand that. It is my prayer that you are right on.

DSchebig, I like how you never badmouth the players. Thank you for that. I only wish that was how it always was on here! LOL...I just try to read only the positive things, so I miss a lot of posts lately....
