Two hours after the game, Zachary Blazic is still ignoring penalty calls that happen right in front of him that he is looking directly at. Talk about having blinders on. This game definitely deserved a better effort from him. He was doing everything he could to not be a part of the decision, and in fact that ended up being a big deciding part of the game.
While battling with Komets defenseman Dustin Molle, Texas forward Jordan Kary deflects a shot into the Fort Wayne goal on a second-period power play.
This game tonight reminds me of the Bloomington game a couple of weeks ago when the Komets had won six in a row on the road but went over there and lost. Texas is a great defensive team, and Chad Woollard has a long history of torturing the Komets and is good enough to beat a team by himself on a good night.
Even though they are scoring more of late, the Komets have also had some bad defensive lapses recently against Wichita and Evansville. This could be a 2-1 or 3-2 game where a bad miscue could make all the difference.
There's also the danger of looking ahead to Christmas.
