No one told me what to think in regards to Mac if that is what you meant.
I was able to read the story, the hundreds of fans who were at the game and their comments, and was able to read the boxscore to figure out that Mac was in trouble in all of this.
That has been my premise this whole time.
I state once again.....Mac is in trouble.
Want to argue it some more for the love of Blake.....gheesh.
Is Mac not in trouble? If not, how so???
I am pretty sure that officials at the game, players, coaches, fans, scorekeepers, popcorn venders, goal judges, police officers, ushers, retired factory workers, radio announcers, and toddlers......can all pretty much sort the situation out with the CHL, The Colorado Eagles, the Odessa Jacks, The Police Department, and God himself ( or herself if you want?)......
My 2 points in all of this from the start.....well maybe 3 points:
a) It appears Mac is in trouble.
b) I am a huge fan of Brad MacMillan.
c) It was a pre-season game!!!!!!!!
So wait for your evidence. Call me names. Do what you have to do.
I don't need to convince you...heck, no one needs to convince me.

I can beat a dead horse with the rest of them, but this is borderline insane.
I don't even care anymore. I refuse to let a hockey fight that happend over 1000 miles away make me insult bloggers I've come to respect.
You're all good guys (and girls as it would apply) remember that as you bust each other up and send each other to Lutheran.

And if you refuse to let a hockey fight lead you to insulting other bloggers, then where exactly are your priorities? You need to get your head on straight i think..
all joklng aside..about the only area i seriously disagree with you is the "beating dead horse to death area" .. i think when a subject comes up worth arguing then people will argue it.. this subject lite some fires. I am asked when he was undisciplined? I am told he was not a goon?
Ummm.... Did he not leave the penalty box and push an official resulting in a 15 game suspension? = Undisciplined goon
Did he not get suspended for hitting a player with a helmet during a fight? = undisciplined goon
Are those his only two suspensions while in Fort Wayne? Off the top of my head those are two that I can remember.
On many other occasions he took penalties at bad times.
Don't get me wrong I realize some of those were called based on his reputation but the fact remains that for all the good he did, and he did have some positive contributions, he also played like an undisciplined goon at times.

Macmillan came out of the box to stick up for Shaf. The ref by his own admission slipped at the same time he reached Mac.
In the other incident, he received only a one game suspension b/c Brad Jones believed it was unintentional. Helmet strap got stuck as he pulled it off in a fight.
Neither are actions of an "undisciplined goon".
So, in your words, you've been "told".
Don't make me do it again.

Bob - i was only fooling around. I understood you.
Canuck - I agree. Mac when playing for us was absolutely everything I would want in an enforcer.. I stand behind what he did by coming out of the box. The helmet incident was an accident I feel... So on a personal sand point i support him 100% while he wore the orange and black.
Those incidences will work against him now though i think. right or wrong it is just the way it is. When you recieve suspensions for those things it will be held against you in the future. sad but true.

Thank you for proving my point.
Undisciplined goon.
As a buddy of mine on another forum posted...
"1 ) he probably was already in the scuffle and sent to the box
2 ) he tried to come out of the box and the ref warned him and told him to stay in
3 ) he came out of the penalty box to fight
4 ) he pushed the ref (didnt look to vicious but he still pushed him down)
5 ) he was punching the guy in the back of the head multiple times
6 ) he slammed the guys face into the ice
7 ) he was then lead to the bench to go to the locker room and resisted
8 ) he came back onto the ice looking to fight again

Ya know, the real shame in all of this is that MacMillan can be a pretty good hockey player when he wants to be (or when he is allowed to be.) You all probably remember the Turner Cup finals when he played with a broken hand. He played well, contributed on each shift, and added skill on the ice. I was impressed with his play.
Mr Snufflupugus
Tue, 10/12/2010 - 10:45am
Alan agreed.
As I said above he like Robin Big Snake have skills. No doubt about it. But neither are disciplined enough to know when the right and wrong time to "lose it" is.
Mac showed plenty of heart and hustle here. No question about it. But calling it like it is, there were times he played like an undisciplined goon. And I don't care what reason, excuse, or whatever else you want to call it it is, coming out of the penalty box is a big time no no.

He went from being and undisciplined goon to.... "there were times..."
There was one incident. I agree that on Oct 31, 2009 Brad MacMillan was undisciplined. That would be .07% of the games he suited up in a Komet sweater.
The other 99.03% of the time his "discipline" wasn't an issue.

Tue, 10/12/2010 - 12:44pm
I respectfully disagree. There were numerous times (and no I can't state the specific games) that he took undisciplined penalties.
Look he is a hard working, hard nosed player. I think I have made that clear. But I don't think that gives him a free pass on his shortcomings as a player and in my opinion there were times (just as there were in recent years with Morency and others) that he let his emotions and adrenaline get the best of him and in now more than one incident, he has exploded big time.
I am still trying to track down info on whether the two suspensions I mentioned above were the only two he had as a Komet. Maybe.
