Here's a question

Here's why it was interference

Near the end of the first period, Komets defenseman Danko Mironovic was called for interference to give Bloomington a second five-on-three advantage. The PrairieThunder scored to make it 2-1 at the intermission. After watching the replay, here's why referee Scott Hoberg got the call correct. Mironovic was skating stride for stride with the Bloomington player who had already released the puck. Then Mironovic dove at the legs of the Bloomington player to take him out. If he had dove toward the puck he would have been fine.

Don't know what's going to happen tonight

But the locker room was jumping before the game. The Komets didn't have a pre-game skate this morning and there are some very happy players in the locker room. They are pretty fired up. There's a ton of energy in that room right now.

Also talked to Colin Chaulk and his wife after his surgery today and he said he's doing fine. Obviously, he's not a Dr. so he's not going to give a diagnosis, but he said he's encouraged. See, your prayers are working!

Some notes

When I talked to Colin Chaulk this afternoon, he was in great spirits and said he already feels better after his second surgery. He's hoping that this morning's surgery is more precautionary and to clean things up. No one knows how long he's going to be out of the lineup.

The Komets have called Mike Butters in Norfolk to alert him of the situation in case the Admirals can send Mathieu Curadeau back. The Komets are also looking at a couple of defensemen and may bring them in next week, according to David Franke.

Chaulk has MRSA

Colin Chaulk's pain tolerance and desire to play through almost anything is legendary, but last Saturday in Kalamazoo he almost pulled himself out of a game in the first period. The next day he couldn't get his skate on his right foot and play at all
