I just hope in the IHL3/4/26/ whatever, the Franke's arent having to prop up half the league..That was a complete joke. Maybe this time the rest of the hockey world will recognize the IHL as a real league...doubt it tho

Crap indeed....
I filled up yesterday. I'm sure it will last a couple more years....LOL....it'll go up less next year when mine will be doing more travelling, I'm sure....that'll be just my luck. Oh well, no one ever said travel hockey was gonna be cheap, now did they? :)
I was talking with someone last night who was saying he went to the game Friday, so he was all down on the K's....how the heck do I end up talking to these negative people who only see a couple games a year, and they happen to go when the Komets lose? They can have a winning trend (not really a streak, I guess), since Christmas of 20 or so games, but lose a few, mainly at home, and that's all this guy could focus on. They have pulled themselves out of the cellar, and all he could see were the 5 losses since they happened at home. People are funny.

Maybe FW has 2 teams?

Wed, 02/16/2011 - 8:49pm
Yeah, it is, but it's expensive. Ever wonder how much money it cost Wichita a couple of weeks ago to go from Dayton on the weekend, back to Missouri and then over to Fort Wayne? That runs up a pretty good bill over a week or so. The expenses are just crazy. Maybe it will all work out, but knowing what I know, I doubt it. You could look at all the attendance figures and understand pretty easily how many teams are not making any money.

If the Komets try to recreate the IHL again, I've got a feeling they'll take a hit in attendance/season ticket sales

Flint is a busted market
Muskegon isn't leaving the USHL
Quad City's owner is CHL/ECHL loyal.
Evansville's Arena signed a deal with the CHL.
Port Huron..See Flint
So that leaves Dayton and Fort Wayne?
The ECHL is the way to go. Kzoo, Chicago, Toledo, Cinnci, FW, maybe Bloomington.. thats a division.

Another IHL would be a huge mistake IMO. NO ONE in the hockey world took the IHL2 seriously and the IHL3 would just be even worse. Unless they pull in KZoo, Toledo, Cincy, and Indy there is no way it has any chance of success

I agree with the ECHL and yes I have an idea how much that expense would be. I am afraid that perhaps the K's ownership may have burned that bridge with the ECHL.

K-Zoo fans aren't as excited about the ECHL as they were year one in that league.....
Many fans there say it is boring hockey.....no one knows any of the players, and it seems like Euro hockey to them with less talent and no physical play.
Not sure that will fly at the MC guys....I agree with the teams listed there....but not the league and style of play.
I don't see us teamed against K-Zoo anytime soon.
My question remains.....
Where does Hextall find more than 2 or 3 teams for this IHL3.5?
Throw out some possible teams Super Fan.

No, actually, the bloggers never took the IHL seriously. The hockey world did because of the rules and the geography.
ECHL doesn't dislike the Ks ownership, they just want them to pay an million expansion fee, and that's not going to happen, especially considreing ECHL is losing teams, too.
Eventually, they'll all have to work together.

Sorry, but what good would that do when it could all change again in a year? and then I'd be reacting to all the stuff people said I said on this a year from now. I personally don't think Bloomington and Quad City are as far gone from the IHL as you think. In fact, I know it for a fact.

I'd also like to see them play against the likes of Toledo. But again, don't we have a contract with the CHL? And GM, I hear you that some people thought it a joke. But when it's that or no hockey....some won't be laughing. I sure would not be. I'm not saying that would be the ultimatum. I'm just saying if that is the owners' decision, I'd still go, and 10,500 other people agreed with me on opening night and championship night for the last 3 years. I might not be the only one who thinks that way. And I am not a "casual" fan, either. I am a diehard fan who goes even when I am having a migraine. But, I understand the reasons everyone will give. I just want to see some hockey played. I will drive to Cleveland to see the Monsters play....I'd just rather not do it every weekend.

Sometimes bloggers convince themselves that something is true. If you say something sucks enough, you don't think of it in any other way. Doesn't mean it's true. And, what good would it do anyone else to refute that? They weren't going to convince you otherwise. So they ignored it and just let it go.
