I don't have much problem with the top six, but you've got to be kidding me? No way should Caddyshack or Jerry McGuire be on this list over Miracle, Brian's Song, Field of Dreams or Eight Men Out. How about The Longest Yard? Cinderella Man was also very good.
What do you think?

The AFI took 10 categories and made a Top Ten for each one. Field of Dreams was put in the Fantasy category where it took the number 6 spot. Brian's Song was a made for TV movie which I believe took it out of consideration.
I pretty much agree with you, Blake. Brian's Song and Miracle are two of my favorite sports movies too. I get goosebumps every time I watch Miracle. How about Remember the Titans or Seabiscuit? They were excellent too.
BTW - I don't see Slapshot anywhere on that list. What's up with that????
I went to see Miracle in the theater (which is pretty rare for me) and people were standing up and cheering during the movie! How it didn't make the top 10 is beyond me. Any Given Sunday and The Natural should be there too. If I sat here and thought about it I could come up with a few more I'm sure.
We went to see Miracle.....It should be in the top 10. Caddyshack was OK, but I agree at least Brian's Song should be in the top 10 and The Longest Yard (original version) should be on the list.
BTW, I did like Jerry Maguire....top 10? Maybe top 15-20.
I usually hate sports movies because A) the action is laughable; B) Hollywood always has to screw up what really happened to make the story more dramatic so they ruin it. Miracle didn't have either of those problems. I saw the movie right after I talked to Mark Wells and Steve Janaszak and they loved it, too.
Game 7 2008 Turner Cup Finals, haven't stopped celebrating yet!
hoosiers, rudy, rocky, miracle, slap shot makes me laugh.
The fight song for the hickory huskers was my high school fight song, written specifically for our school. always get goose bumps when i hear it during the movie, that fight song motivated me late in many 4th qtr's.
Bloomington set to announce Puhulski tomorrow. rumors........
