The Komets announced Thursday that Mathieu Curadeau and Kaleigh Schrock have agreed to terms and have been added to the Fort Wayne roster for 2010-11.
Curadeau, 25, will be joining the Komets for a third season as a pro. The center scored league titles in his two previous seasons in Fort Wayne skating to Turner Cup championships in 2008 and 2009. Curadeau was named to the IHL All-Rookie team for 2007-08.
Last season the Montreal, Quebec native appeared in stints with Kalamazoo of the ECHL (51gp, 23g, 24a, 47pts) and Worcester (3gp, 1g) and Hamilton (3gp, 1a) of the AHL after enjoying a career best year with Fort Wayne in 2008-09 leading the Komets with 34 goals, 13 power play tallies and adding 31 assists for 65 points in 52 games. In addition to being a member of the Komets in 2008-09, Curadeau also spent time with Norfolk netting two goals and three points in 18 AHL games.
Schrock, 25 and a Fort Wayne native, made his pro debut last season with the Komets scoring 20 goals and 31 points while accumulating 168 penalty minutes. Schrock appeared in all 12 playoff games scoring two goals and four points en route to the 2010 IHL Turner Cup Championship.
Schrock was presented the Komets' Mr. Hustle Award and Rookie of the Year honor for 2009-10. Prior to his rookie season, the forward completed four seasons at Neumann College from 2005-2009 capturing the 2009 Division III Men's Ice Hockey NCAA title.
15 players currently claim spots on the Fort Wayne roster with today's signings including 10 forwards, four defensemen and one goaltender.

So it looks like the team will look a lot like last year's minus Chaulk, Shaf, Bert, and Huk...
Looks good!!!
Now lets work on Timmy, Mac, and a big guy!
Should be a solid team.
Yes! Woo-hoo!
That's great news! Glad to see Shrocky back and it will be nice to see Curdy again. However, I'm still sobbing over the loss of Chaulker...)-:
Sweet...welcome back to Curadeau...
Schrock is a huge signing
Folks we have ourselfs a good team going here!!! No negatives here so far!!! wtg Frankes.
Great Signings ... Where do we go from here ??
The sky's the limit!
Excuse me, The salary cap's the limit!
I would like to see someone like Brouchard sign, or someone with his experience and talent. One more vet maybe. Then fill the rest of the roster with guys like Schrock and Curadeau. Now that would be a team.
C'mon Syro.....
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this team might be the best all around unit since the 07-08 team.....scoring should definitely be up and the defense should be lock down. 4 goals a game looks mighty doable.
Schrock-Curedeau-Petruzzo
P.C.-Leo-O.C.
Looking pretty good to me
Glad to have Curdy back.
It's sad to see all these people with blinders on.
I certainly have my complaints about the Frankes, but boy oh boy. I will give it to them when it comes to putting a team together.
Not a single complaint to this point. Nicely done Frankes. Get us a touch more toughness perhaps? maybe another vet? who knows.. I certainly trust their directions on personnel.
Its sad to see somebody posting on a blog at 1:16 on a Thursday afternoon whining about how you didn't get what you wanted from the Franke's Mr. Not.
I'm far from the biggest Franke supporter...but at the end of the day while I'm not a Franke supporter, I am a Komet supporter. When criticism is needed, I will say so. And when a team signs AHL experienced talent, I will praise that decision as well.
2 great signings! now we need a big tough D-man to rough it up and drop the gloves when need be,
Some of the Franke haters are just having a hard time understanding why all of these lowballed and mistreated players keep wanting to come back.
Great signings! While I wanted a house cleaning at least they are mainly bringing back the under 30 core of the team. I hope they fill out the roster with under 25s who have the hunger and desire to win championships and possible dreams of moving up.
Thank you Komets from a VERY VERY PROUD corporate sponsor!
According to David Franke, Mac is not being asked to come back.
I kind of suspected that with all the talk about how the CHL is more focussed on speed than on the physical play.
CHL has "tough players"= that is where about all the "tough" players in IHL came from last year.
Snuff,
Very well said. I am really liking how this squad is being assembled. I would have liked having at least a 70 game schedule, but I can possibly see that change for 2011-2012.
Otherwise, I'm pleased with how everything is coming together.
To not an ihl fan......,never mind!
Snuff vs. Colin Chaulk in a steel cage match.
Low ball offers happened. Can't we just accept that? It's business.
Maybe Brandon Warner is getting multiple offers like Schrocky did?
Not a ihl fan you're so wrong these guys want to come back here because they get "Red Carpet Treatment " and the fans support them.
I know (fan support), to the point that Jungle Monkey shares a bunk-bed in his house with BWs and even allows him to park his corvette in his garage. Oh, and he paints his face for the games.
You the Man J-Monks.

What's wrong with painting your face for a game.....only if its an important game....like the 1st game of the season or the finals or fight night with Muskegon lol.....I got J-monks back on that, however, nobody is going to park a vette in my garage unless they are giving me the keys.
