I predict an 80% chance that the K's will beat Arizona on Friday. Unless, of course, the Sundogs really were mad about the Komets daring to be happy about winning their last match-up. Yeah, right.

If management wants the players to play more like a team and not as individuals, maybe management should take the player's name off of the back of each player's jersey. That will only leave the name of Komets on the jerseys. Maybe then they would play like a team, because they are playing for the only name left on the jersey. Komets!!!!

I hear what you're saying, but I'm sure the league requires the surname be on the back of the jersey, and these are professional athletes, not high school kids.
Besides, if the name wasn't on the back, the fans would not know who they're cheering on....or booing! :)

I'm just trying to figure out a way to convince the players that no one player is greater than the team.
Does anyone know if this is the reason why IU's men's basketball team do not have their names on the back of the jersey?
Just wondering.
Go Komets!!!

Not as bad as Toronto (sorry Mike) so far, one win in their last 10 games and they're down 3-0 still in the first vs Nashville as I type this.

Rick, that is what lots of colleges do, no names on the back. I know that's why ND and Penn St. football has no names on the back. Play for the team/school, not yourself.

Flint had no names on the back because they couldn't afford the letters.
All this rah rah stuff is great, but the bottomline is this team needs to decide, are they ok with losing, or does it hurt so bad that they are willing to do the little things it takes as a team to turn this thing around and win.
Some guys need to look in the mirror.
I think this team can win. They just need to do it.
Interesting to me that Mike is back blogging with the rumors about Colin Chaulk swirling....

Steve, Gordie Howe was my man growing up. My mom bought his book for me. Slept with it under my pillow. Hey that might be better than the skates.
Hit, I don't have anything on Colin. We were with Jill's folks last week and it has been tough. They miss the grand kids of course.
The team in Italy is not doing well. I believe there were some goaltending issues that have been looked after. But I haven't heard anything up here.

They have dressed 18 this season with only one goalie listed on the roster.....here is the example:
The Komets have dressed 19 players in several games this year. I don't know how they are able to do that with in the rules, as the rule book states that you can dress 18 players (16 skaters, and 2 goalies).
The sheet that Hit has linked does not show Boucher but he was dressed as the back up. They have dressed 19 players in 3 games this year. If you look at the box scores they only list one goalie in the games played at the coliseum.

Mike, sleeping with his book under your head has no doubt brain washed you.. :-) I understand though, Gordie was the man.
My brother is a strong Redwings fan and I have a few friends who are season ticket holders so not eveyone who follows them is evil, I just wish Chelios would have stayed with the Hawks, for a couple of reasons. Yeah, I'm a Blackhawks fan. My wife is from St. Louis and a Blues fan and for some reason has held a strong dislike for Chelios for years so our rivalry was more fun when he was in Chicago.

GG.....I was waiting on Super Fan to clarify this.....but maybe he didn't see it.
I have seen them do this at least twice where they had 17 active skaters play and one goalie on the ice, and one on the bench. I mentioned several weeks ago, and no one gave explanation as to how they got away with it. It has been said a hundred times that this league is 18 dressed players a night. The IHL was 19.
Any ideas Super Fan??? Wish Shebig could comment. Can someone officially interview Shebig, or ask him and post an answer here.
Would love to know.

It might have something to do with being on AHL or NHL contracts, I believe. The Komets also did not dress Reiter for two games last weekend because of the flu, so maybe they dressed an extra skater instead. I'll try to find out more details.

Blake, what's the latest word on the immigration papers for the new player? Do the Franke's have any idea when or if they may come through before the games this weekend?
