Can you say Kevin St. Pierre, UHL Goaltender of the Week? Slam dunk.
OK, here's a discussion topic that ought to keep you busy: Are the Komets getting better or is the Eastern Division that bad? I think we'll find out for sure next Friday when Adirondack comes to town, but what do you think?
Next trivia question: Where did the Komets once play on an NHL rink? Clue: Mid-80s and they played an NHL farm club.

They played last year on the St. Louis Blues Home Rink, can't remember the advertising sponsors name, against Missouri in the Playoffs.
I'm not sure if I care if the East is weak or not. It is 3 wins so far, and guys are starting to play better. 2-3 weeks ago I don't think we could beat a third grade girls team the way we were playing. The number of penalties have been far less. We have scored goals on the powerplay. St. Pierre is turning back into a brick wall and the guys are playing well in front of him. Maybe some good momentum will come from this trip and we'll start getting back that winning confidence again. The Franke's have so far pulled some good moves, maybe lucky moves. Too bad Kelly Miller couldn't be talked into staying around the rest of the year. He has been as productive as anyone. We are gaining on Quad City, too. Let's knock them off one at a time. A month from now, maybe we'll look back on things and wonder what we were worried about.
I should have said what was the FIRST NHL rink the Komets played on.
See it was a trick question, so tricky I tricked myself.
I think it was in 1988, the komets played muskegon at the igloo in pittsburgh and lost 7-0.
I definately think the east is weaker but three wins is not to shabby, todays game will be interesting to see how the komets do against a tough physical team. today they might get knocked around a little. the trades the ks made were good but they still need a sniper even if he is a defensive liability.
Phil is right, it was Pittsburgh.
I'm not so worried about the Komets getting pushed around today as I am of them falling asleep on the ice. It was a 9 1/2 hour ride from Richmond, which means they didn't get there until 9 a.m. or so this morning. They have to be exhausted.
So much for Frenchy getting Goaltender of the week...
