Sheesh, I felt like I was escaping from Rura Penthe when I left the MC tonight, although, come to think of it, everyone on the Port Huron bus probably felt that way much more so than I did! LOL. What can I say? Awesome game and awesome win for the Komets. And I had a really great interview with Chuck Itt, too. :D So a pretty great night, all around.

Wow! Wasn't that fun last night? Wasn't it Larry Sterling who, not all that long ago, insisted that Tim Haun was nothing more than a Southern Professional Hockey League goaltender? Gee, I wonder if he still had that thought as he sat in his dressing room for the last half of the game after giving up seven goals? Look, anyone can have a bad night (heck, the Chicago Cubs have had a bad CENTURY ) but to open his mouth like he did has to be embarrassing for him. I would like to think that the K's, as a team, are somewhere between what we saw on Wednesday and what we saw last night. It just shows what they can do when they shoot, crash the net, and get a rebound or two. Good for O'Conner, he got one last night and maybe that will open up the floodgates for him. I rooted real hard for Chewy to get one also. He sure works hard and hustles.....one more thing. Wendy, I read your post and just what does "Rura Penthe" mean? I'm not trying to be a wiseguy or anything. I just would like to know.

Alan,
Rura Penthe is an ice cold planet that the Klingon Empire sent their prisoners to in the 23rd Century. (Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country) The planet is nearly impossible to escape from and the conditions very brutal. It is similar to being outcast to a Siberian Gulag during the Cold War of the 20th Century.

Gee Bob, thanks for the explanation. Sounds a lot like being married. I have no idea why a comparison to that and a hockey team getting blitzed ever got by me. I guess sometimes I just can't see the obviuos.

I said it probably felt more like that for Port Huron than it did for me. For me, I was just talking about trying to make it all the way to the back of the parking lot before freezing to death. Punishment, after all, was being set free on the freezing surface. Can't argue with the part about sounding a lot like being married, though.

ColtsWin!--now that's the power of positive thinking!
Alan--I was thinking something very similar about Sterling...I was thinking of his "I'm the best **** goaltender in the IHL" comment. And the thought that came to my mind was a crack on my own self....I thought that maybe I still don't know hockey after all, because what good goaltender lets in 7 goals as if he's made of swiss cheese? :) OK, other goalies I would say the usual, he had no help, his team was nowhere to be found....nope. Larry and his ego are on their own! LOL...

Larry has a mind? I'll be! You learn something new all the time. I know Larry can't hold his booze. He made himself known to the "Showgirl" crowd Thursday night. I wasn't there but have been told it was so.

I wonder if he spent the last half of the game at Showgirl....Coach Dracula after the 2nd period came out of the locker room into the lower arena concourse and was trying to contact someone on his cell phone.....makes you go hmmmmmm. Wonder if they were chanting Larry over at the nudey bar too? I heard on his walk over to the SG3 that he stepped out onto Parnell in front of a truck, and it went five hole on him. DAAAANNNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!1

Some days, I am in absolute awe of your commuting abilities, Tim. As for Hit, he's always most welcome. All he has to do is say "yes". But I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
