The Komets are sitting in Covington, Indiana, about 100 miles out of Bloomington waiting for a bus to come from Bloomington to pick them up. They have been sitting there for an hour so far with no heat. There's no power on the bus, either. As soon as the Komets arrive, they are going to get 20 minutes to dress and a 15-minute warmup.
They are coming home after the game, on a bus that is driving over from Fort Wayne at this time.
``We still have another half hour before we have to huddle together and share body heat,'' Bob Chase said.

I hope that no one gets sick from freezing in the bus. I was at the wake for a friend's grandmother this afternoon and it was like 11 degrees with the sun out....it's colder then that now.
Err....I meant to say "colder than that"! Regardless, it's very cold out there tonight....
Something needs to be done about the bus situation. Doesn't seem like th Komets and the bu company have ever been on the same page.
About the only option is to buy their own company which they can't afford. As I understand it, the bus company has to carry so much liability insurance for the team to be able to use it, and this is the only local company that does.
I work outside all day, every day :)
Car pool like the old days.....lol
This situation just makes me want to just go....Who own da Chiefs? Owns, Owns.
I was once in Thunder Bay Ont. and it was -56 :(
I once stuck my head in the freezer for awhile, just to see how eskimo's feel.....
You're a better man than I am, Mightbite. A tip of the cap to you.
Use to live in the UP, -30 wasn't rare and my car didn't want to start once it hit -20 without a push. Wind chill was never mentioned unless you were riding a snowmobile. Never been to Thunder Bay, but remember them playing against the Milwaukee Admirals when I lived in Wisconsin and the Marquette Iron Rangers when I lived in the UP. Always had a good, fast team.
I've also been to Iceland and Greenland but in the summer and fall, I can't come close to mightbite's record.
JR, that explains a lot..... :-)
I work outside also. IT'S TOUGH BEING TOUGH
