Congrats to all the Hawk fans.
Talk about an inspirational story... How about Pat Kane? The guy goes from beating up a 60 yr. old cab driver in Buffalo during the offseason, to scoring the Cup winning goal.. What a story.
This series made me hope for average goaltending in every Stanley Cup Final.. Really let the goalscorers showcase thier talent. For not really caring who won, I came away a fan of several guys. Buff, Sharp, Briere, Richards... I've always been a Pronger fan.. Overall, very entertaining..
It was a great series, the battles between big buff and pronger were fun to watch, the hawks goaltending was definately better than the flyers.
mightbite...don't forget to add Pokey Reddick, Joe Franke, and Shawn Chambers (2x) to the list of former K's to have a Stanley Cup ring. There may be a few more, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.
Awesome to finally see the Blackhawks win the Cup...I've been a Hawks fan since I was a kid. Glad to see Chrissy Pronger get shut down the last few games...especially Game 5. On the ice for 6 of the 7 Hawk goals and in the box for the other...that is classic! I wonder if/when Torchetti will get a look from a club for a head coaching job.
The officiating in the first period was horrible. The goaltender interference call, the interference call, both on the Hawks by the way. Philly got called for some questionable things also, but they also got away with alot of things. I thought it was funny that when Philly hit a Hawk player the fans were about to jump out of their skin but when a Hawk player hit a Flyer, the fans were rabid, crying about a call. Good Stuff. Interesting how people see things when they put their "fan glasses" on.
Last rumors I read had Torchetti linked to the Atlanta job; but that was a few weeks ago... Would make sense since the Hawks former Asst GM is now the GM in Atlanta...
Weird way to end a great series, but I will take it! I was pacing the floor during overtime. I wish the Hawks could've won it in Chicago but I really didn't want to see the series go seven. My only complaint was I thought Buff should've gotten the Conn Smythe, but that's just because he's my favorite Hawk. :) I haven't been a fan a real long time, but long enough to remember when they sucked so this is something special!

JR...that would be interesting to see Torch in Atlanta...that would mean that their last 2 coaches would have FW connections with John Anderson just getting axed. The sad thing is that coaching in Atlanta is pretty much a dead end job. Management doesn't seem to want to spend the cash to get a good cast of players. Hard for a coach to succeed in that environment lots of times..
And she would do it too! Good stuff mitebite.
LOL....I remember taking that shot, mightbite....sorry it's not a better shot of you, but for some reason you would not turn around. Weird, it's like you were on tv or something....
I think she didn't photograph your face because she didn't want to break her camera............. :-)
Yeah, precisely. The Atlanta job would be too good off an opportunity to turn down, but it's pretty much doomed to fail from the get-go. Speaking from experience with that kind of thing, I'd say, "Just say no!". :S
MB, you didn't see that (those) before? Why do you think I wore those ridiculous heels? Self-defense!
oops... that was meant to be "too good of an offer"
Oh, Steve....not nice!! And mightbite, not true!! You know, I think I might have some with my camera of that night too, but I don't remember....I'll have to look.
I guarantee nobody from the Flyers ever goes to a Fratellis concert.
What is a Fratellis concert? / BLB & steve, I can tell you my shoulder is a lot more ugly than my face :( / Wendy, no I never seen those pictures before.I found them looking up Brent Henley.
Sorry. I used to post links every time I'd put a new set up, but I got so far behind in posting them that it seemed pointless to say, "Here's a link to some game shots from 2 months ago." But now that the season is over and I finally got the rest of my game photos out of hock (earlier today, believe it or not), I'll probably post something about my Flickr page in general.
