The IHL announced Tuesday that Fort Wayne goaltender Tim Haun has been named the Meijer Goaltender of the Month for February, 2010.
Haun, 29, posted a league best 1.95 goals-against average appearing in seven games (5-1-0-0) and stopping 180 of 193 shots for a .933 save percentage. The third-year netminder did not allow more than two goals in any single game and completed the month winning four straight appearances and riding a seven-game home winning streak.
During the month Haun set a career high of 16 wins en route to a 9-1 home win over Port Huron Feb. 5. Haun enters March on pace for a career year at 20-9-0-2 and leads IHL goalies with a 2.20 goals-against average and .922 save percentage after 32 games.

WOW & he is our back-up goalie!!!!!!
Not bad for an "A" level goalie.....lol
Congrats to Mr. Haun!
Yeah, not bad for a goalie who is supposed to "go back where he came from."
Quad City fans are already complaining believing Jones should have won. And the only reason Haun won because the Komets own the league. HA, HA!
Take that Larry Sterling
Haun is #1 for team MVP with Leo #2.
Here is some more entertaining reading from up at North Fort Wayne General country.....he makes a good point or two.

Savage is fly fishing, trying to get his hits on the web up, I'm not going there!
So, they all do it. Doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. Doesn't mean that team owner's don't sound like politicians either. I support the Komets whole-heartedly and enjoy the experience at the MC with the Komets. But I still can see sunshine being blown up my.....too. I think we ought to start a grass-roots project and donate pucks to the IHL for the needy teams in the league. I will pledge 5 pucks personally. Anyone else out there have a big heart?

See, here we go. This is awesome.
Save the IHL and the Generals!!!
SuperFan, can you get us an official drop-off box at the games so bloggers know where to take their pucks so we can help the league out here. There is a need out there, and we bloggers can make a big difference. Donate your pucks now!!!
Give a Puck, save the Generals!!!
Regarding Brendan's article, I can hear my dad's voice now:
"Those are good pucks! You play with 'em! There's nothing wrong with those pucks! Why, when I was your age, I would have been grateful just to have a puck! When we played hockey, we had to dig rocks out of the snow and knock 'em around!"
So is Savage saying that since the Franke's have an interest in Flint that they should make everything "equal"? Thats ridiculous.
Obviously, if you're propping a team up to keep your league alive, you're not going to splurge.
What savage says, means, thinks, writes and understands about a subject are all different! I pop a Zoloft(kind of has a yellowish color to it Schebig) before attemtpting to read his fodder. Tanning in 3 weeks!
Savage really takes the time to count the pucks at practice and what logos are on all of them? Blake, you must be getting worked way too hard, sounds like reporting in Flint allows for a lot more spare time than it does in Fort Wayne.
Wendy, you don't look like my sister but your dad sure sounds like mine. Red headed step child? :-)
I have a pile of pucks too, some of them may even be from the 50s Komets, not sure. There is a Lancing Lancers puck, maybe Robin should use that.
Two questions. Does the puck used actually go into the hall of fame or is it kept by the player. Pretty sure it goes to the player and Brendan is trying to be funny.
Not sure if the league furnishes pucks but I'm positive they have a requirement for a minimum number on hand at game time. Anyone know how many for the IHL?
