Haun, O'Connor honored; Mac on IR

Tim Haun won IHL Goaltender of the Week and Sean O'Connor IHL Rookie of the Week on Monday. Haun was 3-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .958 save percentage. OC scored four goals and seven points in three games.

Brad MacMillan was placed on the 14-day injured reserve list with a Grade 2 separated shoulder. That means he cannot be replaced on the active roster. I asked David Franke if he had any interest in signing Olivier Legault, and he said, ``Not at this time because we'

Also good to hear that MacMillan may only be on the shelf for 2 weeks.... Good news!

According to Embassy theatre staff, the Dinner and a Komet fundraiser was canceled due to poor ticket sales. Seeing as they apparently replaced the season ticket holder party with this (relatively expensive) fundraiser, I wonder if they're going to do any sort of "meet the players" thing before playoffs.

I was wondering about that also. Last year the team held the bowling event at Crazy Pinz...which was a lot of fun.

When were we supposed to be informed that it was cancelled? I've got tickets!

Aw, sorry to hear that about the fundraiser. It sounded like a lot of fun, but yeah, kind of pricey.

"Season ticket holders are just there to help us break even.. The casual fan is the one we're looking to get through the doors."

I'm paraphrasing... but thats the jist of what we've been told before.

Who in Minor Sports would really care about 3500-4000 people that are guaranteed money in the bank and will support your team no matter what???

Really? Who?

Dayton does great with just the walk-up crowd.

I'm guessing they'll inform everyone that it's canceled tomorrow, but I really have no idea. With tickets being $40 each, along with whatever price you wanted to pay for the auctions, I wasn't terribly surprised that it was canceled but I was still disappointed. It's a shame, since it was all going to charity.

As for the season ticket holders party, I would guess they would've announced plans for it by now if they were planning on having one. It seems odd that they haven't said a thing about it, especially being this close to the end of the regular season/playoffs. If they didn't plan on having a season ticket holder party, then they shouldn't promote it when you buy season tickets. False advertising much?

Come to think of it, there really haven't been many team appearances this season, at least compared to previous seasons. Very disappointing!!

According to the Komets website there is an open house on April 14th at the Coliseum for season ticket holders.
