The Komets are 8-3-4 over their last 15 games, but that's not been good enough to help them climb in the standings.
``Until we start winning in this building, we're not really going to make any imprint on the standings,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``We've got to start doing it here. Winning on the road is great, but if you lose at home you're not making any gains.''
The crazy thing is that the Komets have won four straight road games. The home fans are obviously showing their impatience.
``These guys have all played in this building for three or four years some of them,'' Sims said. ``That's not an excuse. We have the best crowds, the best building and there's no excuse for our team to come up with some wins against teams we know we can beat. We beat this team twice, and we need to beat them at home.''

"Komets announce Shafronov to teach hockey to his fellow senior citizens at Arbor Glen" ?
I have never spelled his name right and I am not starting now lol.
Will they announce that he will play for the senior citizen discount?
Hopefully for free. I don't think they can afford to pay any more money on this roster and make it under the cap.
And aren't they at the Vet limit?
Someone will have to go if Shaf is added....right?
No offense.....I am hoping every game that one of our star players starts playing like a star player, but he isn't playing like a star player. He did make 7 or 8 checks tonight which was nice, but the Komets weren't going into this season for him to make 7-8 checks total this season and very little point production.......
I will go out on a limb remembering Leo is on the IR for 30 days....not knowing BWs status.
Here are my lines:
Chaulk, Lardner, Schrock
Lapointe, Curadeau, Apod
Musselwhite, OC, PC
Shaf?
Frankie, Molle
Cescon, Guy
Warner, Phillips
I don't know....worth a shot....I think Patrosso could stay and one of 2 others could go on the forward lines. There are 3 guys right now that are fighting for 2 spots as I see it.
OC, Patrosso, Curadeau. Those 3 need to deperately step it up.....
If Shaf is coming back, Leo will come back eventially, Lapointe has played well and should stay, and Musselwhite deserves to play in my opinion being the 3rd line center.
What do you guys think? Not that I want anyone to go, someone has to I would think.....
Or there is the IR shell game....right?
IS THIS A BAD JOKE...I don't mean to disrespect KS....but, get real.......this team has been fubar since the start....blow this team UP.....fill roster with young, hungry kids....low $ contracts w/ $ bonus for playoff seedings.....this team WILL NOT sell tickets, this year or next...hire a REAL GM, the chance to see a player on his way "UP" is a major selling point....offer the "old" Komets free tickets for their family to "promote" Komet hockey to groups/suites/general fans....
Bring back Kevin Popp,he hasn't played for a few years, but at least he'll fight :)
Klotz is a real heavyweight=missing from the Komets :(
granbois is a "chicken"
Molle at least showed up in his fight :)
Rodger lined up with Klotz,but didn't :(
On The Glass, be careful with those radical ideas. If you deny the desire the see the ghosts of Komets past then you are stoned in the parking lot of Golden Corral.
Ian Boyce will help with the PK.
Robin Bawa will help with TOUGHNESS
Mike Butters will help with CLEARING THE FRONT OF NET
Don't forget Lee Davidson and Peter Hankinson on the line with Boyce!!!
Where is Ray Leblanc????
Like Klotz a lot. We could use him here. Make a trade someone!!
The team looked like crap in their defensive zone all night.
A goal scored off a faceoff? Where was everybody?
Mironovic's inability to pass the puck to a teammate twenty feet away from him (behind his own net) with no pressure led to a turnover, the Thunder cycling the puck, and an eventual goal.
Dale, skating all alone, circling behind the net, cycling all by himself without one Komet challenging him led to another goal.
The Komets, again in the defensive zone, find themselves with all five players on one side of the ice leaving two thirds of the ice to Reiter's left wide open. What happens? The puck gets knocked away and lands right on the stick of Klotz who walks in alone and scores.
It's time for Mironovic to go. Brings little to the game and the K's need a quality defensive defenseman. (Maybe two).
That need was clearly evident last night.
STH's received their notice for the first part of the playoff invoice. Payment due by Frebruary 15th. Seems to me that I will wait until I know that they will even make the playoffs before paying.
Snuff, we already have the team you're looking for age wise, the Fort Wayne Federals. :-)
Glass, I'm pretty sure the bonuses would be illegal in this league.
playoffs, playoffs did someone say playoffs :)
one of the best quotes by a NFL coach
they haven't given me anything for the $1300 I paid for ST yet so I am really unhappy about getting another bill for the "fantasy" play-offs!
i understand the need for young players, BUT look at all of our young players not producing. young players doesn't always mean a better team.
Dale's goal was a direct result of Mironovic getting beaten by a flipped puck behind him and the player burning around him.....so he was in the mix on that one too...
Also, I think you are seeing the team doing better on the road because the buildings are smaller ice surface wise. We have a slow footed d Corp and when we play at home they are abused by the opposition....beaten like a rented mule in fact
Becky, you are right on! I would feel guilty if I was the one sending out those bills.
I liked the line on the letter that read something like...
Remember when you bought season tickets you were signing your life away to buy playoff tickets even though the teams bites.
I feel as a STH things were taken away=exchange nights.
Aww what's wrong with exchange night? Now a fan of your guests sitting on the cat walk? Sure glad that's now enough tickets down low for our 1st exchange night crowd of 5600 to take advantage of...
I've never understood why teams even have season-ticket exchange nights. They don't have to. It's just a perk. It's no skin off the team's back if you don't use all your tickets.
Blake it does work out nicely for people who want to bring a large group of clients to a game. We used them a couple of years ago and donated 30 of them to a group from Big Brothers/Sisters.
Otherwise it does get butts in the seats, parking, food, drink, programs, souvenirs etc. Of course the Komets don't see a cut of all of that but they do get the souvenir revenue. It isn't something they have to do but if it does get butts in the seats and if a few of those guests get the bug and buy tickets to a future game it becomes worth it.
when you are paying almost 2 times as anyone else.I have to miss because of work & nice to take 12-14 people to a game.Dave Franke is a liar.
Why is David Franke a liar?
What am I missing? Isn't Feb 9 a STH exchange night?
I'm guessing I don't understand why the team should care if you have to miss a game. That's your problem. Why is that their problem? I'm not trying to be contentious, I just don't understand.
With the Columbus sending back Francis and sending another player with him will the K's have to release anyone or do they have room on the IR.
he tell me that exchange nights same as other years, then say's not=that is 2 face liar.
Do the komets have to do exchange night? NO!
Do the komets need season ticket holders? YES, for multiple reasons!
Do the komets need to attract current season ticket holders to renew and new season ticket holders to come? YES!
Can komets do some of this attracting by exchange nights? YES!
Does it sting season ticket holders if they are originally given something and then it's taken away? YES!
There are two reasons of why season ticket holders were mad about this at the bottom. They both can be seen by following the logic :)
When's the last time you bought a ticket, Blake?
I really don't care about the ticket exchange. I rarely miss games, when I do I never go to the trouble of exchanging them.
The exchange night a couple of weeks ago had 5600 people. What would the attendance have been without exchange? They might have had to pay rent for the first time.
No, teams don't have to do ticket exchange nights. But you have to admit that it is kind of scummy to change a policy like that AFTER the vast majority of your STH are locked in for another season without letting them know that the policy would be changing. They knew full well that people would be upset about it, and that some (like mightbite) wouldn't have purchased season tickets if they had known. Because why plop down over $1000 for a pair of STs, knowing you can't attend every game, when you can just buy tickets as you need them and wind up paying about the same or only a little more in the long run?
I buy tickets all the time, JM, so stuff that.
