Komets PR Director Chuck BIn 58 years of IHL play, the league has had an unchanged year of member teams only eight times, with last year being one. If we had gone unchanged this year, it would have been back-to-back seasons of no change for only the second time in the history of the league (it happened only once, the member teams of the IHL for 66-67 stayed the same for 67-68 and 68-69).

Here is a interesting story from Quad City:

Check it out, Cornfield has been around for a long time. He knows Hockey and lots of people.
Evansville???

Mention of the Icemen moving up to the IHL...
Wow, that is a big story. I knew Evansville was a possible team down the road....but this season? What arena do they play in now....what is its size? I thought the idea was to wait until the new arena was built. If Evansville gets a team in the IHL, that is big news. Then you have to be really optimistic about Indy in a year as well. What about Peoria and Missouri now? Makes you wonder if we are headed in those directions as well as Des Moines. We gain those teams, and this is a seriously nice development to making this league strong. Of course if those markets have good owners and a nice following.
Hit Somebody!!!
Here is the Evansville web site:http://www.evansvilleicemen.com/
You can check out everything you want to know about the AAHL team in Evansville. The "New Arena" will not be ready until 2010/2011 season as I understand it. I think it would be huge if they were to start this coming season. I just do not see that happening. But as you know I have been wrong before.
k-zoo will be crawling back to the IHL./what will happen to their players? I want the K's to get Nebus.
Port Huron Herald is reporting the Dayton press conference for Tuesday 6/9/09.
Do you have a link on that Dschebig?
Just for you my friend: check Paul Costanzo's Blog at www.thetimesherald.com I tried to post the link but I am not any good at that.
Hit Somebody!!! I would think that St. Charles is out. The Blues own Peoria and moved them out lock stock and sticks to Missouri. Peoria as of right now has no team for next season. The parent NHL teams have been moving there AHL teams to cities much closer to the parent club. This is what happened to Quad City with the Flames and also with the Ducks and the Chops in Iowa. I think (this will get me in trouble) they have learned something from the I-H-L about travel and foot prints. They would never give any credit to the lowely IHL but it for sure looks like it. Chicago & Rockford, Edminton & Winnipeg. They want their players close.
I wonder why it isn't Chicago and Chicago then?
But I hear you.
Peoria would be a nice pick-up by the IHL...Bloomington, Evansville, QC, and Peoria would make a nice division.
Dschebig, St. Louis has done no such thing or said anything publicly about plans to do such a thing. They will be back in Peoria next year.
Blake.. I would take your word over my source at this time. I tried but was unable to confirm. Thanks for the correction. I just hate to be wrong. It's not the 1st. and will not be the last.
I thought I was wrong once but I wasn't.
