OK, here's a story I personally have no way to relate to, but it was still fun to write and very interesting to talk to the guys about. We talk a lot on the blog about giving 100 percent, but here's an example of how much effort they do put in looked at in a way I'll bet most of you have never considered.

Very interesting article, Blake. I can actually relate to this article from my own experiences in athletics. It's tough for me to gain weight and my metabolism is so nuts that even when I'm just relaxing, I constantly cook off calories because of the routine. Pretty cool stuff and a good perspective.
Maybe I should take up hockey!
I know, in some ways I hate them.
Kind of gives a whole new perspective to can't go 100 percent every night, doesn't it?
I'm sorry, but I really don't think it changes the fact that someone said they don't go 100% each game. You always give 100%, not for the fans or the money, but for your teammates! I am not saying that your 100% in the first game of the week is as good as your 100% in the third game of the week, but you always give 100%. I am sure many of the players would agree.
Hoss is right
Believe it or not, I think that is EXACTLY what P.C. was saying. Some nights no matter how hard you try, it's just not there so you make the best of it.
Another thought, how many of us are checking out the blog from work? Is that giving 100 percent? LOL.
busted... :)
First, my work ok's internet access during work as long as all other work for that hour is complete...
Second, its the players who workthier tails off during that game to get as close to 100% as they can who Garner the fans respect... IMO
Good story, Blake! Very interesting
Hang in there Brandon.
I thought players were supposed to give 110% in sports. Isn't that the usual clich
"110% is a production impossibility at this time" as my Econ professor always said. I am 100% dedicated to checking the blog and since I am the boss, yes, it is part of my job ;)
I guess you may be able to make an argument for not giving 100% strictly from a mass standpoint. If you have lost weight, it's impossible to give 100%, get it??
I'm agreeing with Hoss and JR still though, although this topic got REALLY long and still no one agreed the last time around.
In a related story, did anyone see the amazing catch Hoss had on his kid when they were walking off the ice after helping with chuck-a-puck?? WHAT HANDS! I thought for sure the kid was going down, but not with Hoss around! :)
All employees reading this during working hours must report any attacks Schebig launches on me, then report to HR for violating company internet access policy!
Thanks Blake, I appreciate it. Today was just a rough smack in the face with reality after another rough treatment and something made me see that the end is no where in sight and I freaked a little bit. I
Whats up GM? Have I missed something? Anything we can help with????
Ok, once and for all on this topic.
Let's all agree, it is ok to give half arsed efforts during the regular season. If it is ok with the players, the coach, the
GM, teammates, Announcers, Reporters, Trainers, PA announcers, ushers, toilet attendents, beer venders, parking attendents, Scoops Guys, fans......whatever or whoever....for sake of argument......
It is ok to not give your best effort and it is ok to admit it. It makes you a much celebrated individual, obviously, for doing so.
Now, let's get back to beating some other dead horses.....
What league are we in next season?
Who own the Generals?
Why does Mitch take dumb penalties?
My Collarbone is NOT Broken.....LOL
I have a nutty fruitcake.
Red Headed Hockey chicks make the world better.
Foo Foo's and Colored Pills make Burgee Better.
I played Professional Hockey, so that makes me smarter than you.
What did I leave out?
(Hit Somebody just attempted to make you laugh, so lighten-up)
Well JR, I haven't said much about it on the blogs/boards but if you've been around for awhile you've probably noticed i'm posting a lot less than I used to, reason for that being in Feb. the Doctors diagnosed me in complete kidney failure and I'm now on dialysis 3x a week while I hope and pray for a transplant which would actually be my 2nd one, 1st transplant was 10 years ago. I had a rough dialysis treatment today and afterwards I kinda freaked out thinking about everything, it's a lot to take on for a 24 yr old but I'm good now...Gotta stay strong and keep my head up, no matter how hard it might be some days.
Prayers are easy GM and I'll add you into mine...
As posted above, I am the "Boss" so I can be on the internet all I want. It is one of those things I do in the course of my day. I am on the computer almost all day anyway. Now for Burgee, it is a very different story. He takes little pills all day long. He only drinks Foo Foo's at the games. Each color is to treat some different kind of ailment. He takes one pill just so he can wake up another to go to sleep. He has so many I can not keep up with all of them. I assure you he gives 100% when he is on the blog, just read his posts! :)
GM. I will add you to my prayer list. If Christ gets you to it he will get you through it. I really believe that! Good Luck!
Thanks for sharing GM, you've been added to my thought and prayers.
Hit, your post has really upset me. All this time and I didn't realize the coliseum had toilet attendants. The restrooms I go into the attendants aren't giving 75%. Those suckers have gone missing and are giving exactly 0%!
And based on the number of people that keep walking up the isle I sit next to the ushers are hitting more on 25% on a good day.
I did not realize that the MC has restroom attendants...the batherroom in my section looks nasty.....by the end of the first period....the ushers...I wish that I got paid to watch a hockey game....:(
GM...I hope that you get well soon...you're in our prayers.
GM, best of wishes and our prayers are with you.
You know, we might get called names, idiots, nellies, whatever.....but all in all, we are family in a way. And we always pull together no matter what. Your blog friends and family, and me (idiot).....are pulling for Chuckitt and GameMisconduct....bigtime.
I had a sales call today and I gained 7-8 pounds. Shoulda stuck to hockey!!
GM.... Best wishes.
Chuckitt and Game Misconduct, you are both in my thoughts and prayers as well....GM, I had noticed you missing. I just thought someone ran you off. Glad to see it's not so, but I wish you did not have to go thru this. I'm sorry. You are tough....stay strong!! This redheaded hockey chick is on your side.
And yeah....sorta with you all on the "where's the bathroom attendants" thing. Don't they hand out towels and spray you with perfume? I've been sitting in the wrong section, apparently. Jungle Monkey, you never told me where the "good bathroom" was. :( What did I do wrong? LOL....
The best bathroom is in the parking lot where they dump the ice from the zamboni. After everyone chickened out in the peeing contest last week, I didn't want to waste a good effort so I went out and saw how much yellow ice I could make. It's a really great game, especially avoiding being caught by cops as they drive down Coliseum. I think I'm under-hydrated though :( I tried to write "Go Komets" but it was dark out. I went back the next day to see how good my penmanship was, but with all the nice weather a lot of the ice had melted and, strangely enough, looked like I had somehow spelled out "Laaaaaaaary", so I peed on it some more :)
And you guys thought bunched up panties was TMI...
Bob, I get paid to watch hockey games. Not always that much fun sometimes. LOL. Beats most jobs, though.
