Asked if the Komets were going to go out and look for more toughness, Franke said not at this time. They'll see how things go the first month of the season.

I guess you could say we were fed a line of crapola about Warner. His hip must need more time. With Warner on the DL that fills all of those slots up. I hope no one else get hurt. Thanks Blake for the update. I can take the duct tape of of my head now.

That would be the final roster then. No one needs to be cut. Warner goes to 30-day IR and Bonneau leaves for the AHL, that leaves us with an even 20 player roster. I like who we have too. He saved some rookies that I think will make a huge impact in Laise, Woodard, and Schrock. Can't wait to see what Phillips brings....hopefully he adds toughness too. Looks like Stayzer and MacMillan will have their hands full with the heavies. Hopefully Stayzer learns some balance this season. Schrock should be entertaining as well.
Can't wait until tomorrow night.....Go Komets!!!

Tyler Sims has been signed by Mississippi of the CHL. That is where he played last season for "Killer" Kaminski. I hope he has a great season. Good Luck Tyler!!

Wow, Warner to the IR...what a shocker. The guys spends more time there than Julia Childs does in the kitchen.
I think we will be fine in the toughness area, even thought we dont have your prototypical "heavy" in the line up... Plenty of guys that can handle themselves throughout... Looking forward to the puck dropping finally.

Also, plenty of well known names cut in the chl, echl, and Europe.... One name that I would love to see back is one Matt Reynolds, who was cut in England...

Not enough jobs out there for all the available talent, could see lots of early changes in all the minor leagues if guys aren't performing early on, puts the pressure on, which could mean very good hockey, we'll see.

Worries me that teams like Dayton, Quad City, Flint, and even Port Huron might load-up on players falling thru the cracks that are very good players. I can't really see the Komets changing anything at all with this roster. Hukalo is coming back and they have Tarantino as an insurance plan at defense......Warner.....wow, not sure I am buying he is hurt. Blake reported he was fine in practice and that Al told him he was fine, but Cohn gave us like 3 different injury excuses I think. Maybe Warner was the final cut off this team and they gave him the choice to be cut or to stay on the team on the 30-day IR to see what happens? Not sure. Just thinking outloud. I thought a tweener or vet might be the last cut player, but I wasn't thinking about Warner.

Please don't jump down my throat on this one because this is a serious question, but is Tarantino really that good? I remember him playing last year but I guess he didn't really grab my attention. I see a lot of people on here seem to be pretty excited about him coming back. Information/explanations are appreciated.

I thought Tarantino was a real solid addition last year. If you recall, he attended the K's camp last year but was let go. When all the injuries occured last year Tarantino came in and provided a stability that was sorely needed. One thing I noticed about him right away was his patience with the puck and his ability to make the correct outlet pass.

RK: Tarantino showed a ton of promise last season when he played. Yeah, he is decent, for sure. It's so hard to say, since he played for such a brief period, but I know I liked the little glimpse I got to see when he played.

Yes, Vince was our best D-Man for a stretch there around the holidays and first of the year as he filled in perfectly. If he hadn't injured his hip, then he would have been on the playoff roster and would have played too. He could play on this team this year and contribute greatly. Solid sound d-man.

I thought Tarantino was a good addition when everyone was hurt. That being said, if he was that good, he would have made the team from the start. If you cut a guy, he isn't quite as good as the players that were here. He filled in nicely when everyone was hurt.

The tough thing about a week long training camp is sometimes a player doesn't have a long enough time to get a good look. Remember our friend Jason Beckett was kinda the guy who started the ball rolling down hill when he fled to Europe when it became evident that Norfolk wasn't going to call him back on his two-way contract. One defenseman down and then the injuries hit.
