"Favorite" must be used as a relative term in this instance.

at 5:20 when they're talking about knowing about a fight coming the first picture they put up is of a Komet fight, not sure who it was. But Komets none-the-less

I must admit that at first I wasn't too interested in spending the time to watch the video. However, after reading the "comments" I decided to. There were a couple of real interesting ( to me ) things that I saw. The first one, and Blake, I'm wondering how possible this is, would be to copy Joe Louis Arena's wall of award winners. I thought that it was neat that they used some space so that everyone who walked by saw the list of players and their respective awards. I know that the Coliseum would have to OK this, but wouldn't it be a great tribute to the K's, the individual players, and an organization that has been the prime tenant for over 50 years, to recognize them? Detroit may be called "Hockeytown USA" but when you discuss minor league hockey, Fort Wayne ranks extremely high on the list. Before anyone dismisses it as just another "goofy" idea, think it through. Sometimes all it takes is a little support from the public to get a concept moving.

Is is a good idea Alan, but it won't happen and you already gave the reason why.

So just for the sake of conversation. Does anyone think with all the hoopla surrounding the Macmillan vs BigSnake match this Saturday nite. That possibly Coach Kromm would scratch BigSnake to try and take the fans out of the game??

They can't afford the roster space unless he actually is hurt. The hype never matches the reality.

I'm just hoping for a good game. We have friends from southern Indiana coming up and going to the game with us. I really hope it isn't like the last game we invited someone to (which was a flop!). I'm wanting a game like the last home game, like the Komets of old. I really hope our team has snapped back into shape and I think they have (at least that's what my crossed fingers are for).

Yea, I know the Coliseum would have to OK it. Still, I would like to think that they recognize the value the Komets have provided to the arena through the years. I know the K's have a great "deal" concerning their lease, but their existance provides plenty of parking revenue, concession sales, suite revenue, and exposure for upcoming events advertised on the scoreboard that an average of 7,800 people see every game. Logically, the walls have to be painted anyway and I think a little Komet recognition would just add to the "atmosphere" of the place when visitors come to the building. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. What do all of you think? Do you like the basic premise? It's easy to be pessimistic about stuff, but somehow things do get done.

Totally agree. It's a great idea.

I like it, Alan. Plus, on the murals around the concourse there are several pictures of Komets players included. I also agree about the Coliseum benefiting from the Komets involvement there, be it through money, advertising, or even prestige. I'm not saying the record board needs to be on any area where there are other things posted, or "high traffic" areas, but maybe over behind 210-220 somewhere where there is nothing on the outside walls. It would give you something to look at while you're waiting in line for concessions, or your lady to get through the line for the bathroom...

One thing I suggested over the years was a FW Sports Hall of Fame. You could put plaques of the inductees up around the building. That got shot down, too.

They shot it down? Sheesh. I think such a thing would be a great idea, and quite frankly, I'm surprised there isn't one already.

Another thing this story got me thinking is that if they are filming it in Michigan, this could be yet another opportunity for IHL players to be extras, wouldn't you think?

I love the idea of putting up photos and player/team awards on the walls at the MC to give the concourse walls a little character. If they wanted to be fair they could have different sections, for other entities that have used the building regularly over the years.

I find myself looking at all the photos on the walls in Kalamazoo's barn every time I go up there. I think it adds something to the place and would change the MC from a sterile concrete block to something decidedly better. I'd even have some of my pics printed big to put in there.

Besides if someone convinced RB that if fans spent more time standing out in the hall looking at tons of photos, smelling hot dogs and popcorn they might be more inclined to spend more $ at the concession stands. Then we might have a chance to get this done.

I think it's a great idea! I'm surprised TPTB haven't thought of it before now. All of the points that people have made are great reasons for it to be done. I think it would be fun to be able to look back over the years and say "Oh, yeah, I remember that!".

Think about this- IT MAKES COMMON SENSE. Since when has anything that made sense been a priority for the Coliseum Board or the the politicians (aka County Commisioners)? Have they ever done anything that make perfectly good sence? Take a walk around L.C. Walker in Muskegon or walk around Kalamahoosit Stadium. Great pictures and memories abound. In fact L.C. Walker has Hall of Fame people from Muskegon and the County all the way around the building. I am sorry no matter how much we or I personally support the idea those in power to make it happen just will not share their private building they host their parties in. Sad, of so sad but true!
