Auger looks to be a good role player pickup. had a decent rookie season. i am checking on sphlforums.com for any info on him.

Chris Auger would appear to be a solid player for the K's. In 42 games he scored 14 goals and had 25 assists. I think the most important statistic was his +/-. He was a plus 9 for a team who had very, very few guys on the plus side ( in fact, he led the team ). The Komets like guys who play both ends of the ice and, I suppose, fit nicely in their salary structure.
Of course with Shrock and Cescon bringing their hustle, effort, and toughness, the K's have two more quality players.
Still, after reviewing the announced signings ( five players from last seasons squad, one from juniors, one from Mississippi, I still have to wonder where the scoring is going to come from.

Need to correct the above post. Chris Auger had 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points, not 25 assists as I typed above.
He was a plus 9 in those 42 games.

I dont think Alan is the only K's fan eager to see some new, quality blood infused into the K's lineup for next season...

If you announce everything now, when some good players become available later, they won't give you the time of day. That's pretty much something that happened last year.

"You are fortunate to sign this one. He is young very aggressive and hard working. He is a constant threat scoring and will do his part on defense. I am sure you have checked his stats and he will probably even be better this year."
This is from a RiverKings fan...Nothing but positive things about Auger.

I will stop telling about player signings before they are announced, this has became too stressfull, I'm getting too old to find all my info out before anyone else does. I'm sure that some don't like it & some do.So just remember who told about Woods-Henley-Legault-Cescon & others.

Hoss I bet that next summer at least one team in the CHL will fold. I predict Dayton and Evansville will have trouble drawing fans and if they are rumored to fold then you heard it here first. I predict across minor league hockey several franchises will fold or move or be rumored to fold or move.
I demand credit for forward thinking.

Blake, I dont think anyone is asking to have everything announced, just an announcement or two showing some new blood coming in... Auger, IMO, is a solid start...
BTW, I like these three signings... Depth, toughness and some new, hardworking (from some accounts) blood...

I totally agree with JR1.
The idea that anyone is asking for a flood of announcements is absurd. No one has suggested that "everything" needs to be announced now.
The Komets have remained steadfast that scoring is a priority. Nothing done, so far, has addressed that need. Furthermore, your "need" has grown worse with the news of your leading goal scorer retiring.

Reading this actually gives me pause to think that if ever done right, sports fans in Dayton WILL support hockey.

I also think that strategy would work for the Komets. I know they draw very well but how many people chose not to buy season tickets due to the price? I am one. I would prefer to go to 15-20 games a year and sit in the upper section for $6 a ticket than pay $450-650 for a season ticket. Since there are 33 home games the Komets could consider 11 game packages at very reduced prices. Maybe include a package that only has weekday games and have the prices be about half the original price of a single game ticket. It might help fill those empty seats when the announced attendance is 5000 instead of 8000 during weekends. It would be better than no paying customer and the seat sits empty. Just a thought.

One reason you can't do that is you devalue your ticket to your season-ticket holders who already paid full price for those games. That's what happened with the Freedom. When the STHs realized how many people were getting free tickets, they figured why should they pay and they stopped. The worst thing you can do is devalue your product.

That is also what lead the the demise of the original IHL. Teams like the Detroit Vipers were getting 15,000 a night but 12,000 of them were freebies.
I guess you could make a go of it that way if you got full control of food, parking, souvenirs etc but the Komets do not.
They COULD do the mini plans if the tickets prices for those were higher than what the STH were paying. But Blake is right that you could never do them for less or even the same amount as those who buy the entire season.

This is a good start so far in my book:
Chaulk, &&&&, &&&&
&&&&, &&&&, Drouin
Auger, Schrock, &&&&
Cescon, Frankie D
&&&&, &&&&
&&&&, &&&&
Boucher, &&&&
Still assuming that Blakes comments might bring us Frankie D. Didn't add Molle until it is announced. Apod maybe?
I wanna see another scoring threat from the Blue Line....how about 2 or 3 more....LOL
