We'll have a total camp preview on Saturday's paper.
Thanks Blake! Always ahead of the curve. I hope the Komets own stock in the Holiday Inn across from the Coliseum or whatever hotel they are putting all these guys up in. Looks like there will be load of competition for jobs. That is nothing but good!
Blake - Do you know why the practices are closed to the public? Seems like a good way to develop interest in the Komets.
It's a security issue after 9/11. There's not enough security officers to police everyone. I'm sure that's a cost issue, too.
Thanks for clearing that up, Blake. I was wondering too. You can go, though, right, and report back for us? :)
How about when they are practicing at McMillen or the new arena? Are those closed to the public?
I don't know, Canuck, now that Canlan has taken over the management of the building. I'll try to find out next week. Who knows when the new one will get done?
Thanks! By the way, it was good was meeting you last season after a game.
According to Canlan's reps, it will be done in November...but I am not so sure about that, since it's barely started. We're supposed to be switching over to the new facility in January for youth hockey leagues, but we'll see. I got to see the blueprints, and the restaurant area looks awesome...that is a neat area with huge viewing windows onto the ice. Should be cool.
And I really hope we can still have open practice....we went one day last year during winter break. But this year, they are having a hockey camp then, so....not sure about that whole deal. They definitely do things differently.
Last rumor I got was January, until then O dark thirty sat and sun all winter for Bantam.
Ditto for Mite, Burgee. Not really, it's 10:50 or 11:00 AM, so the sun has at least usually risen. You have one in Bantam? Good luck to him/her! And yeah, we were told NOvember when we signed up by the Canlan people who were down from Canada, and when I questioned them, they said, oh sure, yeah, yeah, no problem.
Wink wink cross your fingers. Him bantam
