Tailing the Komets

leo

Except the goaltenders. It's like an all-star game or a track meet so far tonight, and it's 1-1 with 15 minutes to go in the second.

Missouri's Ryan Jardine scored first:

And then Leo Thomas answered for the Komets.

Specifically what did Missouri do to get the delay of game penalty

I'd like an explanation of why Missouri got it's delay of game penalty at the end of the 2nd period.

The Mavericks had a player come off the bench at the end of the period to skate around. Useless rule, but that's why.

Henley is fine.

So if Henley is out of tomorrow nights game and Starenky is unavailable because of the IR game, the Komets will skate a dman short.

Henley will play tomorrow.

Komets kept him out mostly so he couldn't get called for a phantom penalty in the final three minutes.

if Henley is fine why did it look like he was " walking off " an injury up and down the hall to locker room ...... or was he just keeping the knee loose?

All I can tell you is what I was told after the game. I talked to him, too, and he seemed OK. Maybe it will stiffen up in the morning, but right now I'm told he's planning on playing.

I guess I'm going to buck the trend on this thread. The fact is that I thought this game was tremendously exciting.

The game I watched last night was an up and down the ice, riveting, too close to call match for about 59 minutes. It was full of scoring chances for both teams. Two teams , matching up well against each other playing the kind of hockey that, with any mistake at all, could change the entire outcome.

Both teams had great chances and both goaltenders managed to keep their nets empty. Sure, there were some Missouri shots that didn't go in (either by Boucher making some great stops or just by pure luck). Same thing for Missouri's goaltender . The Komets had so many chances in front and the puck just refused to fill the net. These facts don't take anything away from the game. I submit that the anguish of a Komet missed chance and the joy of a Missouri missed chance just added to the drama of the game.

The plus side is that the Komets played a complete game. Sixty minutes of hockey, a win, and they appear to come out of the game healthy.

Kudos to Colin Chaulk on his two goals, He is shooting more the last few games than I have seen for quite a while. His goals, points, and +/- is rising accordingly and is really becoming the force on the ice that we are expecting. He did well in the faceoff circle tonight as well.

Kudos to Chris Auger who had some great chances and looked as if he hasn't missed a step at all after his injury.

Kudos to Schrock who hustled all night long. Also to Leo Thomas who also played with a increased desire. His shorthanded goal was a thing of beauty, and without it, who knows what could have happened if the game would have gone to 2-0 instead of 1-1?

Kudos to Bennefield who is getting numerous chances but is snake bit. You can tell he is ready to explode with his share of goals soon. Just keep working. Chaumont got a working mans goal, and boy, was it ever needed. And kudos, of course, for Boucher who continues to play very well.

I don't mean to miss anybody as the whole team played a tough, positionally sound hockey game.

Yes, there were some moments when Missouri kind of had the Komets running around. Same thing for the Komets as well.

The Komets have a bunch of players who aren't afraid to shoot the puck.

Here's hoping they shoot for two more wins this weekend.
