i always enjoyed watching brian mckee for some odd reason never understood why. i was also a big fan of Kevin Weeks and Eric Boguineicki
My vote also goes to John Anderson. The hat trick against Peoria in the 1991 Finals on a bum leg, and playing without a helmet is an all time classic performance.
There are a few others, but that's a story for another day....:)

Brian Walker of the 72-73 Turner Cup Champions.
Walker had skills that were extraordinary. He was a very smooth skating center that could score, pass, and take over a hockey game. I once saw him score from a faceoff. It was quite something. He also had the intangibles, in that, when he was on the ice he made the whole team better.
He was injured for part of the 72-73 season but here are his stats. During 72-73 he played in 53 games. He scored 24 goals, had 47 assists for 71 points. He accumulated 24 minutes in penalties. In the playoffs he played in 9 games and scored 7 goals with 6 assists for 13 points. He had 4 minutes in penalties.
Brian Walker injured his hip being the victim of a hit and run during the off season. He did come back to Fort Wayne two seasons later. In 74-75, he played in 70 games. During those 70 games he scored 38 goals and had 41 assists for 79 points. Even with those stately numbers, he was not the same player. The hip injury took a lot from him. The Komets did not make the playoffs that season.
He was part of the "baby Penguins".
It is not surprising if you have never heard of him. 1972-73 was a long time ago and he only graced the Coliseum ice for those two seasons. He had to retire, and thus, could not generate the time and point totals required to be a famous name in Komet history. Fate can be cruel and if his hip had not been injured , we would recognize his name as either a great Komet, or one that would've made the NHL.
Those were "magic" games back in 72-73 as the Komets charged from behind to win the Huber Trophy and the Turner Cup. Brian Walker was the glue, the spark plug, that led the team. "Magic" days indeed.

One of my all time favorite Komet is Lee "Harley" Davidson. Loved the way he played. I remember a game at the beginning of the 96-97 season when Chicago Wolves were in town, and the game ended up going to a shootout after the Komets being down 7-4 or something like that. Davidson scored a penalty shot with less than a minute to go and tied the game. That was one of the most incredibles games I've witnessed as a fan.
One of my favorite Komets. D'Arcy Keating. Tough as nails and just as mean! Became a OPP officer.

From my own eyes: Eric Boguniecki left a huge impression on me (Elementary years). High energy well rounded player. Solid goals & assists along with taking on players much larger then him with hits and fights.
From the stories I've heard: Eddie Long --- really wish I got to see Mr. Komet in his prime (watching him skate in his 70s isn't the same) but going by all the classic stores of him being that all around player that could both produce the points and drop the gloves. In recent years I got to know Eddie very well as he was a big part in the start of sled hockey here in Fort Wayne. The knowledge and passion he was able to bring was priceless.
