No, but I need to. I'm out of a bunch of stuff after eight games in 11 days.

The first series will save $$$$$ for franke.

Doesn't matter, they'll still lose money. Every team loses money in the first round because of low crowds.

Really??? I always thought that playoffs was big profit.

Blake do you think we seen the playoff roster last night ?

Blake Sebring
Sun, 03/27/2011 - 2:16pm

Yes, I do Duglaw.

Playoffs are rarely big money with all the travel involved, and if they are, it's only in the later rounds.

I would sit Guy & play Mirasty :)

I love Guy, I would let him play as many years as he wants but his holding penalty last night was possibly the most stupid penalty I have ever seen...It was insanely stupid, obvious, and no reason for it

BIG scoop coming in a few minutes, so I'll be back and forth on this.

If we don't win it all I would root for "Bloomy" :(

I would put Mirasty in the line up and move Guy to a ast coaching postion. He has slowed down a bunch, Jon in the other hand would stop some of the "goonfoolery" by the other team.

Komets going to AHL & sign Mirasty to life time contract :)

The Komets have until 1 p.m. Monday to turn in their final 19-man roster, but one name will not be on the list. Jon Mirasty left Fort Wayne on Sunday afternoon to return to Syracuse, N.Y. where his wife is expecting their first child. Mirasty was left out of the lineup Saturday night during the Komets' final 2-1 win over Colorado before 10,480 Memorial Coliseum fans.

Asked if he had been told he was not being included on the final roster, Mirasty declined to comment about that specificly.

``I'm just glad this season is over with,'' Mirasty said. ``It's been a long and hard one with me. I think signing with Anaheim in the offseason last year was a big mistake. I think I'll regroup this summer and you'll see me next year, hopefully back in the AHL (American Hockey League). I've already heard from some teams."

After being assigned to the Komets from Anaheim, Mirasty played in 19 games earning 40 penalty minutes.

``It's a great organization,'' Mirasty said. ``David Franke runs a good ship here. I think they have their head on their shoulders pretty well. I wasn't' too happy with the way Al Sims played me and the amount of icetime he gave me. I couldn't really play my role and intimidate with the icetime he gave me. I think I played a little bit more at the AHL level. The organizaiton itself is great, and I envoyed my time here. The fans were second to none. I have nothing but good things to say about the organization. It's first class.''

I honestly wonder how much Sims actually knew about Mirasty before he got here. I really think he knew VERY little about Jon

Right on GM, we had one of the best enforcers in minor league hockey.Who even played 2 pre-season games with CBJ.

When you actually let him play you can see there's a reason why AHL teams want him in their lineup but I guess Sims doesn't think he's good enough to play in the CHL

Good Luck Jon.... it was great having you here. Too bad our coach didn't know how to use you in the games.......

Blake...who do you think the Komets match up better with--Bloomy or Missouri? Nolan has had another great year and a goalie can carry a team come playoff time. I forget about Bloomy's trap game and how boring the hockey is.

Like others, I have loved the CHL team games the most....clearly significantly faster than with the IHL teams. The PT have turned over a huge chunk of their roster, so they seem more like a CHL team to me...they just play a boring style.

I know others like Mirasty, but you just don't need a player like that come the playoffs. As a Hawks and Avs fan, I hate the Wings, but they play a great style of hockey and I think only have been in 4 or 5 fights all year. I realize that's NHL, but the style is effective. They play playoff hockey all year long it seems.

Before this weekend, I was sure the K's would roll over in three. Considering how every player seemed to play hard every shift (and PC and Warner weren't on the bench), I think we could make some noise.

Blake, does the CHL reseed the playoffs like the NHL. If the #8 teams beats the #1 team, do they play the 4-5 series winner, or would the #8 seed have the play the highest remaining seed like they do in the NHL?

I am a Mirasty fan, but that type of player is not suited for Sims philosophy or type of players he gives ice time to. When you sign a player like Mirasty you have to commit to playing them a regular shift, like Penner, Richards, Klotz, etc. It took Mac a better part of a year before he really got ice time. I think for the most part this year it proved you have to have a guy like Mirasty in the lineup who takes a regular shift now the question is can you find that player and would they be wiling to sign here knowing now how Mirasty felt about his situation. I could tel by his body language after his first game he was not all that happy, IMO.
