Have any of the K's said anything about Gens and the few low blows he delivered during the game Saturday? I believe he was the guy who hit Rizk low (looked like knee to knee on CHLtv) and had a couple borderline dirty hits... Seems to me he would be a guy that needs a message sent...

Gens and Plante were getting beat all night long. Gens was obviously frustrated and was taking some liberties with Komet players. I didn't see the contact he had with Rizk very well, but there were other instances that he could have been subject to the department of player safety.

For only being 6' 180 lbs, Gens has always played a physical game and chipped in with decent points each season. He always seems to get some good shots on our guys. We don't seem to put the body on him too much though. It will be interesting to see who steps up this weekend for the hit on Rizk.

I'll answer those questions.
1). Part of it is he is having fun. Another part is the Komets (until this weekend) have been successful in the neutral zone with their trap, and third, I think he's playing his angles well and has trust in his defensemen.
2) We'll know more about Rizk as the week goes on. I'm thinking he'll need more than the 10 day IR.
3) D. Molle was placed on the 30 day IR. The only good I can take from it is that it will give more time to analyze and decide on which guys on defense stay.
4) The komets need either a power forward up front, or another sniper as Mele, Thorne, and Schrock ( by the way, congratulations for Schrock as he got past the "Arthur Kiyaga line") have left a lot to be desired as far as scoring is concerned. Bennefield played last night but I'm not sure he didn't come back too early and it will take a while to get him to his old self.
