I asked Brad about the stuff that's been said on the blog, and here's what he had to say:
``There is no one in that room that I would go out of my way to go after. I enjoyed my time in the Komet's locker room. Sure guys have disagreements but like i have said before i am not the type to go after a teammate or go out of my way to take a shot at someone, not my style. If one of them did something stupid and a scuffle occurred well i have a job to do and so do they. Its a sport with competitive and very physical nature. But as to this allegation that i am going out there to "punch out" some former teammate is total b--- s---. If anything Guy might take a run a me for all the pranks i pulled on him. Maybe Schrocker, I messed with him a lot, haha! You know me Blake just as well as anybody in the room, i like to have fun and keep things light. I will play the same way in Colorado as i did in Fort Wayne. ''

This was just getting fun, way to ruin it Blake. :-)
Mac, the professional. I'll miss that dude. I'll definetly look forward to Colorado visiting.
Thats an obvious smoke screen to avoid any punishment from the league for putting a bounty on Komet players......LOL!
I cant believe you fell for that malarkey Blake.....
Disclaimer: in case you missed it, that above post is all in good fun.... :)
Kudos to Brad calling out the Komets fans!
We'll miss ya Brad. Good luck in Colorado.
Ashley-I am not sure the people Brad called out are in fact Komet fans. We have some bloggers on here who are in fact NOT Komet fans. Some may not even be real hockey fans of any team or league. Some just need a place to vent and bad mouth players, owners or Leagues. It is their opinions and they are intitled to them.
Brad is a Professional! He is a great guy who was real Komet.
Now he will be a real Colorado Eagle. He only knows one way to play and that is all out. He will be fun to watch in any uniform.
I will be very interested to see the reactions from K's fans if/when he takes a questionable run at a Komets player.... The guy plays all out (which i admire) and sometimes his emotions get the best of him so........
Good Luck Brad in Colorado. You were my favorite Komet. You will be missed for sure.
Wow, I'm learning all kinds of good stuff about what it all entails playing in a unionized league... A few...
1. You are only allowed so many contracts for the season in the CHL... So we wont be seeing (most likely) 30-35 players in camp signed to contracts like before. It sounds like 90% of players signed to contracts coming into training camp make the team due to the limited amount of contracts each team is allowed to sign players to for the season... Sounds like most teams bring in 25-30 players with not all being signed to contracts...
2. Teams pay for travel costs for all contracted players coming into camp and reimburse invited players if they make the team. Sounds like this is a big factor in 90% of contracted players making the opening day roster.
3. The Union gets a copy of every contract signed....
With this in mind, the Komets currently have 18 players signed for the coming season with Dupuis, Warner, and DeAngelis possibly pending... That would put the number signed players at 21 (9 of which would be D-men). How many more contracts do the K's offer or do they start to extend camp invites soon instead of contracts???
I could see Pawlowski playing forward...he is listed as one on Pointstreak. but must of made the switch the in the past 2 years.

here is fight video of the Komets tuff guy
mightbite,
Can he skate? It looks like he could tear apart the penalty box area.
mightbite is "SICK"
Mightbite,
That was some old, classic footage. I had totally forgotten about "The Missing Link".
Bob, you can "Google" any old wrestler & find footage. I thought it was a good pick for the "new Komet heavyweight" that has not signed as of now.
Thanks mightbite, I was convinced fights in hockey were the real thing, now I guess they're just like "wrestling", fake and put on. :-(
JR, I thought you had been around long enough to remember the old IHL and some of the union issues there? The unions exercise a lot more control then just these couple of issues. Especially in things like termination of contracts and trades. That's why negotiating a CBA can take so long and possibly fail.
Steve, I remember the old union issues as it pertains to terminations of contracts, trades, etc... I've just never heard of only having a certain set number of contracts that you can sign players to for the season...
So if what I'm being told is correct and say 5 of the players signed so far do not make the opening night roster, then thats 5 contracts gone from our allotment for the season... Once they are gone, they are gone and you either have to trade a player to another team for contracts or play short...
Were you aware of this contract allotment?
The CHL last year did not have PTO's; but am told they may be in the new CBA.
Little things like that are what I was unaware of, not the meat and potatoes of union contracts... Plus its been awhile since the K's have been in a union league...lol
Wow, that doesn't make sense, does it? I wasn't aware of it either. Guess we'll have to wait (here we go again) to see the final version and see what happens.
If the number is low that could really bite.
Worse case scenario, a team is on a road trip and there is an accident, semi crosses the line and hits the bus. To keep it nice everyone survives but there are many injuries and 9 players are out for the season. Does that mean the team is totally screwed because they have only five contracts left?
This is something we'll have to look for once the CBA is completed.
