Hey Mike, you need to buy bus and open a shuttle service between Toronto and Fort Wayne.

What do you think, Steve, a sleeper? LOL.
It really is not a bad drive. I can get down there in six hours.
On another note it looks like things are heating up on the signings after a sluggish Summer.
I see this season starting with much more purpose due to the difficulties in 2010.
Hope everyone is having a good off season. With all due respects to the loss of Tim.

Blake, the interview at http://www.wfie.com/story/15197178/no-agreement-between-erc-evansville-icemen-means-no-hockey-team-at-new-arena sounds like both sides of the Evansville arena lease issue are not prepared to budge. Any idea how long the league will allow the team to let the issue hang?
Sean Venedam.....best wishes to him....really sad news.

The league doesn't really have much choice in the matter.

Well, Mike in Toronto, I wish I had thought to look you up....my family and I just popped up there for the weekend to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame. Loved being up there, and the drive was no problem! Getting in to Canada was easy. Getting back in to the USA was a lot harder (took forever is all, really). All in all a great weekend trip...we had gone to the Perani's hockey sale in Farmington Hills the day before. We loved Canada, and my kiddo kept saying "I can't believe I'm really in Canada!" :)

I am liking the signings so far....keep them coming! I would worry about the lack of a power forward, which is my next priority for this season, but hey...."it's not Christmas yet"!! LOL....hey, someone had to say it....

My question is if this doesn't get solved...which other city is able to take the IceMen in quickly....like in the next 2-3 weeks?
Louisville?
Battle Creek?
St. Charles?
Flint?
There is another arena north of Dayton.

Two teams in Dayton. That town is barely supporting one as it is.

BLB, happy to hear that you had a good time up here. You would have driven close to where I live, north of Milton. We can get to the HOF in about 50 minutes.
JM. Yes it is tragic about Sean. Colin and his wife are going up to Sudbury next week for the benefit.
This is something you don't expect to see in hockey.
There are a lot of people in his corner.
Sean will really appreciate all the best wishes coming from the Fort.

Taught school in FWCS for many years. Sean Vendam and Colin Chaulk came to my school, I believe the first year that they were with the Komets. Both were wonderful people. Sean did most of the talking and I was very impressed how he worked the crowd of kids. Afterwards, they hung around and shot baskets with the gym classes. I am deeply sadened for him but I am sure he has the positive attitude to get through this and be even a better person. God bless you Sean and good luck.

I don't go seeking to rub shoulders with players often but Sean was the best of the best as far as I am concerned.
If anyone will find a bright light in a situation like this it will be Sean. I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't turn the sport of sledge hockey on its head if he chose to participate.

That is pretty awful....I did not even open the story until you all started commenting on it....I wish him the best. I was not around as a fan when he was playing here, but still, as a K's fan now, they are all awesome to me. I wish him and his family lots of strength. And Mr S, yep, sled hockey would be glad to have him!! Great thinking there!

Haha. I agree. With his attitude he could be a great ambassador for the sport.
It is Sledge hockey in Canada but sled hockey here. I guess they didn't want people thinking it was a female disco sport here.
