mightbite is right. What is the story with Flint? It is July 15 and all we have heard are promises. Give us, as fans and supporters of the IHL, an update. If they can't do it then tell us. We can take it. As of now this is an embarrassment. If something is holding up the announcement than tell us. The longer this goes on without information the worse it reflects on the IHL.

My guess is Flint is not 100% in until they resolve the finer details of this exchange of "power". The schedule has not been release and here it is the middle of July. QC and Flint have not name a coach and no player signings have been announce the only active "new" club has been Dayton. While I feel QC will eventully start making announcements I still think Flint is 50-50. There is something up there that is preventing them from being a 100% in.

Didn't Franke say he hoped to hear from Woods by the end of the week? It's Wednesday, that's halfway through the week. This is probably why Blake keeps things from us because people go nuts about it on here :( Give them an inch...

Relax everybody. It's just that the stadiums have some conflicts with some dates is all. They'll be getting the new schedule out to us just as soon as they get it straightened out. Yeah right. And tomorrow morning I'm going to sprout wings and fly. LOL.
Nice interview, Blake. You sound pretty confident that this thing with K-zoo will be going to court. Honestly, I had thought it would probably be settled out of court before things went that far. K-zoo's owner supposedly has money to throw around, and I'm sure the IHL could make good use of additional funds. $1 million would be nice. :D

Wendy it is in court now but if they settle before the end of the trial then part of that settlement can be that the terms will not be made public.

mitchwoodsfan-The answer to your ? is when Mitch Woods sends his signed contract and it is approved by the League Office. Not one minute before. It is about time Flint starts communicating with people up there. I hope it is all positive. I think it will be. Blake can you get the League to update the IHL website? It is really bad.

That is encouraging news Blake, but you'll pardon me if I'm a little skeptical. We always seem to hear that something is going to get done "in a week to ten days." I hope that they decide to get the schedule done in time for the printing company to be able to put dates on my season tickets. That was just a joke. (sort of)

Schedule delays have nothing to do with Flint, QC or anything hockey related. It's all on the NBDL which can't get its act together.

Right. A settlement. That's what I said. We'll take our $1 million now, please. :D
As for Mitch, I just don't have a good feeling about it happening at this point, but we'll see. The Komets camp is pretty full already. I'd hate to see him sign only to get cut.
And yeah, funny how "next week" turned into "next month" as far the schedule and Flint situation go.

Why would the NBDL have anything to do with the IHL schedule? Is the MC holding dates for them for equality? I thought dates would be on first come first serve basis.

It is the Mad Ants league....the National Basketball Developmental League. Why in the heck would that matter to the IHL schedule is beyond me. They could play their games at Southside High School and there would still be a half empty arena. Sorry, but that is the truth. It is like watching really bad paint dry.
People have the right to be skeptical when it comes to Flint. Look at the track record there over the past 5 years for instance...Players not paid, athletic trainers not employed, vendors not paid, front office people let go, radio announcers let-go then brought back to let go of again, businesses owed money, owner hiding out in Thailand, other owners just plain old hiding, it has been a mess. Anytime we hear the "we will have information in 7-10 days", or the "end of next week", or the "ownership group will be solid"....everyone has heard this garbage and become immune to it all. Not just us fans in Fort Wayne, but think of the people living this crap in Flint.....
One way or another, it will work itself out for the better or worse....but the fans in Flint need to stop being jerked around and level with them a little....will there be hockey or not....and at this rate, I would be plenty ticked off up there to even care anymore in which case, what is the point of having hockey in Flint if the entire fan-base there is down to 2 people or less and it is beyond repair both financially and realistically?

I think Stayzer gives them options in the toughness department....he will be an energy type of guy that can play defenseman. I like the signing.
Here is why we are hearing nothing good from Flint...and it why we probably won't see hockey there this coming season.
I wonder if the Flint owners used to own the Charlestown Chiefs? Maybe Reggie Dunlap can coach them this year? They may not be around this season though because I heard a retirement center in Florida is interested in buying the team.
