I didn't know Mr. Nichols but he sounds like a very remarkable man. I hope the Komets see fit to acknowledge his passing with a moment of silence before the Flint game.

Great article. While it is sad because of the loss, it is also inspirational and can teach a lot of people to be thankful for what they have. Did he also attend games or just the practices? Did I miss that in the article? In any event, very good article about who sounds like was a great man.

Mike Nichols was the consummate Komet Hockey fan. There was nothing "casual" about him or his life. I only wish I could be half the individual he was. Goodby my friend your smile will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of ever meeting you..

Thanks for the article, Blake. I'll repeat here what I put on my Facebook page. The Komets' celestial cheering section just got a big "+1". Rest in peace, Mike.
Frozen- I know he went to games, the last time I saw him at a game was the finals against Musky last season. I don't know if that was the last game he went to, we didn't always see each other since we sat on opposite sides of the ice! I actually hadn't seen him in several weeks before I heard of his passing.
