Ummm...change your headline on this post - sounds like the NHL is being mean to rookies.

Better. Besides my trivial whining, also wondering what happens to the so-called "bottom of the roster" guys who get temporarily cut to accommodate guys sent down from Springfield (which BTW isn't all that close to FW - nobody's getting sent directly from Columbus to here). Are they really cut and can get scarfed up by some other team, or do they go into some kind of limbo where they're still K's property but don't get paid?

I think that's one of those things we'll have to wait and see. I don't know how strict the CHL is on using the IR list and things like that. I'm guessing they'd have to go through waivers and then could go anywhere. That's one reason why they have said they might bring back Konstatntin Shafranov, Kevin Bertram and Ryan Potts from time-to-time.

i think the current rookies we have whoever loses out on a job because of players being sent here will have the chance to maybe play for another team in the CHL.

I am wanting to check if I am the only one w/ this opinion...does anyone else think that one of our players that are supposed to be so great has a terrible attitude?? I can't stand watching him bc he is constantly hogging the puck, throwing nasty looks at the officials, and acting like he is GOD of hockey. He needs to loose a little of the arrogance that he carries around. At this point, he could do a cartwheel on the ice (w/ skates, gloves, and a helmet on!), and I won't be impressed. I would rather keep a first class guy than this monkey...

Stop talking about Burgee like that.....LOL
I assume you are speaking of Curadeau.
I wasn't at the preseason game Thursday, so I can't comment on what you saw.
I am not too worried, he is a flat-out talent and will put up big numbers. Things will even out, Al will direct that team to do the correct things....the line pairings will come together, and guys will mesh.
I say give it time.

I want players with an attitude. if you going to call out a player why not just say the name. i can probably guess who your talking about but why not share who you think it is.

don't really want to throw anyone under the bus. just trying to be respectful...unlike him. Attitude and the desire to win is one thing. Disrespect is another.

haha... That's a good one GM :) I guess I have an answer to my question. I am not the only one that sees it. At least I am not crazy! It bothers me but doesn't bother everyone. I can deal with that! I just hope we can get lots of points from him so I can over look it :)

I thought we were talking about Hodgeman.
We're not going to pretend that this alleged "God" of hockey is the first guy to play here with an ego, are we? Lol!

Got off the rookie topic a little. I think this will help the club in the long run. Competition, especially amongst the younger players is a good thing. What are you looking for? A guy that has a sense for the moment. When do I have to drop the gloves? When do I take one and turn the other cheek. They will play hard. The good hands will be evident. Fort Wayne will love these guys when they are playing, because they really think they have a chance. Says a great deal about the Komets and Al. Columbus has some confidence to send some kids to the Fort. Al has been there and will handle it well.
Thanksgiving here in Canada. Thinking about our good friends in Fort Wayne. God Bless.

This does worry me a little bit, ask anyone who has been a farm team of the Bluejackets how they liked the setup. Columbus has a history of take take take but not give anything in return. Just ask Dayton, Elmira, And Gwinnet
