No roster moves today

But at least one is coming, according to General Manager David Franke. Leo Thomas will be activated on Thursday, but another unnamed player is going on IR because of a sore groin. Brent Henley will not be activated, but could be if a defenseman gets hurt over the weekend.

As for Jesse Bennefield, his surgery to clean up his ankle was a success, and theK

Interesting Brent stated on sound off that he was ready to go and expected to play Thursday night. I wonder which forward is going to go on IR and I know they use the term sore groin but I always look at that player's productivity to date also. I also wonder if they want more time to evaluate certain dmen as to why they would leave Henley on IR?

Henley should be playing if healthy. He's possibly the best defensive dman on the roster. Letting him sit while a couple of the others play isn't in the teams best interest. These roster moves get old. Put the best players on the ice!

There are 4 forwards all at 3 points...Thomas, Schrock, Mele, and Thorne. .. All have missed games this year except for Schrock.... Maybe sitting a game or two will wake him from his slow start???

With Schrock choosing not to drop the gloves, he doesn't seperate himself from Mele much.

Schrock's lack of goal scoring doesn't bother me nearly as much as his lack of physical play.

I think Schrock is plenty physical. Yeah, the pucks aren't finding the net yet but he's doing an awesome job checking and blocking shots. The guy is all over the ice. Keep it going Schrocky, you'll find your groove.

Brent didn't look too healthy at practice on Tuesday. It looked like he was in alittle pain after skating around abit. Just an observation.

Schrock is skating hard; but he is not nearly as physical as he has been in the past couple years... That includes hitting, scrumming, fighting, and being the overall pest he can be... Still one of my favorite players, and it pains me to say this; but I wonder if he could be alot better in that role if he werent playing for the home town crowd and his family every home game???

Good points JR. You have to wonder, with him being a young guy, and this teams inconsistent play, if he isn't considering his options. I thought I read this past off season he was just a whisker away from signing with the Walleyes. I'm in no way questioning his loyalty to Fort Wayne. He's an awesome player who deserves to wear that A on his jersey but I can't fault him for wanting to take his career outside the Fort.

I would love to see what Schrock could do playing for a guy like Christie in Ontario or Drulia in Wheeling of the ECHL...

There are a few guys on this season Komets team who styles dont exactly fit the current system in place, IMO...

Not to beat the proverbial dead horse but maybe it's time for a new "system"?

As stated previously I believe that Scrock's roster spot could be better utilized with someone else. He has three points(assists) and the strengths he exhibited last year are nonexistent. In that he has become somewhat of a non factor on the third line of a CHL team I can't see an opportunity in the ECHL as mentioned by another blogger. While I would like to see a turnaround, I'm betting he isn't on the roster as the season progresses.
