Komets general manager David Franke said today there will be no further discipline for Evansville's Jeff Christian for his elbowing major against the Komets' Frankie DeAngelis on Saturday night, or against Leo Thomas for his slashing major on Sunday in Dayton. The league is still deliberating about Derek Patrosso's abuse of official penalty on Sunday in Dayton. It was a verbal abuse foul and not a physical one. The Komets are also waiting to hear if they will be able to get Michael Ratchuk back from Springfield in time for Wednesday's game.
FYI, to the pro-AHL forces, Franke said the Columbus Blue Jackets have already announced a continuation of their deal with Springfield through next season. He said the Komets are not interested in a full AHL deal with Columbus at this time.

Crazy how Thomas got a gamer for his lame slash, but yet Daytons Matt Miller only got 2 mins for his slash that Schrock took. Millers slash had alot more impact then Leo's, and could be heard in the stands!
Thanks for the information, Blake. " He said the komets are not interested in a full AHL deal with Columbus at this time." That's kind of an interesting way to put it, isn't it?
Hope to see Ratchuk back soon. Columbus picked up a guy on waivers last week and then made a two for two trade with Phoenix today. Hard to figure what that means for Ratchuk.
I think that was more along the ``Never say never'' lines, Alan. If it ever happens, it's a long way off.
Syracuse just got Brian McGrattan
Gotcha, Blake. It would be interesting to know which came first, the announcement of the Springfield decision or any talks the Komets may have had with them. Just thinkin'.
Looked up Springfield's record. If their playoffs are determined by the top eight teams in each conference then Springfield is looking more solid than I thought. Looked up their roster and it seems they sure have a whole lot of players on it. Looked up their attendance and after 31 home games they are averaging less than 3,500.
Ya know, except for Ratchuk, I'm not sure the Komets have really gotten anything from this affiliation. ( Especially since we know that Springfield is being extended another year.)
If the komets are hanging in there for another year to see what happens, then I can understand it. But other than that I see little benefit . What do others think?
Very interesting: Evansville waived John Dipace.
How does a league preach about concerns of concussions from hits to the head and not suspend someone for giving an (what looked like a deliberate to me) elbow to the head. I understand Christian was in defense mode when Frankie went at him but there are better ways to handle it that another elbow to the head.
Would Christian have gotten a suspension had Frankie not went after him?
I hope this is just a fluke weekend and get back to the winning ways on Weds.
Basically, I think it's because Frankie skated into the elbow. Now, you could also argue he already had a concussion from the previous hit which could have been called and was not. As for your other question, I don't know that answer.
"David Franke said today there will be no further discipline for Evansville
He didn't get suspended for the elbow because he left his clothes on :)
JM while I would love to see that Wednesday night my guess is Lane will be in the line-up for Eville to protect Christian. Besides that punishment should have been dealt with Saturday night. I and you have seen it all the time when punishment is not given out at the time of the "crime" then it rarely happens in the next meeting. I am sure there will be a lot of hype leading up to Wed. game. As for no suspension I remember Mac getting a pretty good suspension for a similiar type of elbow to the head of a Kzoo player a couple of years ago, this elbow given by Christian was far more brutual and he should have at least received 5 games for it.
Hey Hit, I found the perfect jersey for ya! Be sure to check out the inscription...

Lane isn't going to do much. Mirasty won't get on the ice. Al will stand and watch. Frankie will wonder why he isn't worth fighting for.
For once I'd like to see the Komets be the victimizers instead of the victims when this kind of junk happens.
We should have a blog-a-thon to raise the money to buy that so I have to wear it the rest of the season.....
It would be a perfect jersey for me.....you are correct GM....how'd you know?
I'm just that good
Or I was just talking about the buddy part but hey, ill take a home run in it actually being perfect lol
some guys would have to have the number removed and replaced and resigned.....me.....
I am All Ready PC's Buddy Brad!!!!!
It is like a match-made in heaven fellas!!!!
The guy it was meant for in reality.....well.....I bet he is a hockey God for sure.....I bet he even played the game....LOL
Lane is on ir I believe.
Im sure Burgee could pony up the money to get you the jersey
Why not Snuff....he loves me more....LOL
I am calling for a truce with Snuff....I apologize.
If everyone chips in 5 dollars.....PC Buddy and me will be complete.

Here is "the jersey"
Just a question; but why would anyone buy a jersey that is personalized to someone else?
If your name is the same Ive got no problem with it but if it's to someone else I will not buy it. Ideally I like my gamers just like they are on the ice and unsigned but if it's signed only the players name or his name/stats
I like the guys that sell their "custom" jersey with their name and number sewn on the back too.. Galakanokis #69... Yeah, I want to buy a jersey with another fans last name on it.... unless its Burgee.. then I could get admission to Franke Towers.
Yeah I've seen more than my share of fan name jerseys for sale..I'd rather have a Tommy Bolduc
That Drouin Jersey is AWESOME. Im a dew fan I would love to have it if it didn't say Brad on it. Uhg.
Ryan C... I know a guy that is selling a game worn Colin Chaulk Mt. Dew All-Star jersey.. Just like the Drouin one, but no "To Brad" ... it's autographed by Chaulk... $300 is the asking price I believe.
Alan, my 2 cents worth to your question: not worth the affiliation. Unless we are getting something we all don't know about....it has not done a lot of good this year that I have been able to see. I liked Delisle when he was here. Not Springfield's fault he got hurt, but he would have gone back up. He was pretty good, so we would not have seen him for much longer. And....that was about it. Ratchuk and Francis were flashes here. Affiliations work for the big guys. We could see someone else leave too, if the parent team likes them well enough. It's just the business end of hockey. It's not the part I like.
I only had Brent Henley sign any of my game worn jerseys=plan on having Jon Mirasty to sign his CBJ jersey :)
Thanks JM, thats a little too salty for me.
