On Friday the Komets are going to activate Chris Auger and place Brett Smith on the 14-day injured reserve because they don't believe he'll be ready to go to Arizona next week, either. They aren't sure about defenseman Dustin Molle and next week yet. Goaltender Alex Kangas remains on IR with a hip problem.
