Evansville 7 H, 4 A
Dayton 7 H, 7 A
Quad City 6 H, 4 A
Bloomington 5 H, 5 A
25 home games, 20 away
CHL teams 11 home games, 10 away
Total 36 home games, 30 away.

I officially re-name the Dayton Gems the Dayton Cowbells......We need more Cowbell on the schedule......a team that the Komets will continuously beat the crap out of, night after night after night and after night, the way the schedule looks, we will play them that often.
I don't know what to think really about this schedule, looks like the travel is absolutely brutal, and I saw a stretch I think in January where the K's will play like 5 or 6 games in 7 days.......I saw a set of games that were 4 in 4 nights.
Not sure what to think here.
I will wait for Burgee, DS, and Ufugus to tell me how great it is, and I will just throw my hands up and jump onto their bandwagon.
I am not a negative nellie.

I already want to vomit up a giant Dayton sandwich.
Seriously, we sat through thier low-budget, boring team last season... at least the most rotten stretch is around the holidays so I'll have other things to do.

After Blakes count.....
33 home......33 away.
3 of those Evansville games at the MC are Evansville home games. Komet fans will be prohibited to attend those games those nights. If you want to go to those games you must travel to Evansville to get those tickets, park your car there, and ride their fans bus to FW, watch the game, get back on the fan bus to E-Ville, get back in your car, drive home, and so on.
I could argue that we are playing all of our games against CHL teams.....but I won't.

Fri, 07/23/2010 - 12:50pm
The three Evansville games in Fort Wayne WILL count toward the Komets season-ticket package.
Of the 36 home games, 30 are on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays.

So.... we complain about Dayton before we even know how good/bad they are... we comment on how brutal the travel schedule is...and it is...which is what happens when you join a "non bus" league with teams in several time zones...
Blake...will Bob be travelling to all of these cities?? Sad to say but this type of schedule may hurry his retirement...

I didn't buy ICEMEN season tickets, I bought Komet season tickets.
But then again, if they sellout all of the home games in Evansvill they will have 30,000 fans for the ENTIRE season. In the 3 "home games" they play in Fort Wayne they'll have around 24,000. Am I the only one that finds that crazy?
Why don't we play Colorado 3 more times and just give Evansville 240k in cash?
MR SNUFFLUPUGUS
Fri, 07/23/2010 - 12:56pm
Oh and my "opinion"... Komets got a great schedule of premium dates heavy in weekend dates which as an advertiser makes me happy as it should lead to a further boost in attendance and make it easier for me as a fan to get to more games.

then we can drop this Moniker.....
And go back to the glory days of the IHL.
Right?
I hope Flint is ready to play us again. I have my Flint jersey ready to go. LOL

The Corporate Sponsors love to agitate and ridicule us lowly Komet fans.
One lives on Sesame Street and sells sunshine.
One sells foo foos and colored pills.
One sells fruitcakes and red-hair dye.
They all are K-ater-ade drinkers.
Jump aboard the K-Train. There is plenty of room in the Caboose for you too.

What an awesome schedule. Not. Looks like the frankes are going to drive this league in the ground also. Sad.

The schedule is like I said "what it is".
I would not be so quick to throw Dayton under the bus. Brian Gratz is a very good coach. He has an outstanding winning record. I know it is lower leagues but you still have to be able to coach.
I think (don't know for a fact) the Komets are just trying to help Evansville out a little bit. They end up taking care of the STh at the same time with 3 more games.
We did manage to keep the Thanksgiving and New Years Eve games. I think that is great!
While the travel my be brutal Al will have the guys in shape and they can handle it.
One more thing we all know now. So now we need the names that will be attached to each division. Let the fun begin!

Wow, what a mystery on that Dennis.
You know one will be called CHL.

What else could it be called?
We'll see in 7-10 days.

Hit--I don't think so. They have implied that the names will possibly be for a person of some notoriety associated with the league(s) in some fashion. I really don't have a clue. You could be correct.
Like you said in 7/10 days we will know, maybe!

Road trippin to dayton, Schebig you can sit in the backseat, hit you can ride up front.
"The CHL features a new look this season with five new teams, the Bloomington PrairieThunder, Dayton Gems, Evansville IceMen (played in Muskegon last season), Fort Wayne Komets and Quad City Mallards who join the league for the 2010-11 season after playing last season as the International Hockey League (IHL)."
It seems to be that the Franke's are the only people saying that we are in the IHL playing under the CHL. Everyone else is just calling this what it really is....THE CHL!
Hell the IHL website has not been updated since 7/15. I just hope the Franke's can let the IHL go and die once again.

I'm in on the road trip....hey, is anyone else goin' to the big Perani Hockey store sale this weekend? Just outside of Detroit?
I like the new schedule....maybe it's just me, but it just seems like there are more weekend games. I felt like there were quite a few weekday games last season ("Wild Wednesdays", anyone?). Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays seem like they work better for most people.
I'll make as many as I can, and how far of a road trip is Colorado, anyway? Dennis....that would be a heck of a bus trip, you know it would....
