Excellent game so far as these two teams are very evenly matched. Komets had lots of jump early as did the entire building. But then for some reason the Komets stopped hitting and their forecheck wasn't as effective.
Muskegon is playing without two great defensemen in Jon Insana and Tom Galvin, who are on call-ups, but the Komets have not been very aggressive going after the Fury.
The Fury gave the Komets all kinds of problems on the power play with an aggressive forecheck. Fort Wayne is having tremendous problems clearing its own zone, mostly because everyone is standing around watching.
Talked to Bruce Ramsay a little before the game, and he was still steamed about losing last night to Flint.
Unlike almost every other team in the UHL, the Fury have the individual talent to go toe-to-toe with the Komets, and they are. Komets will have to win this game with a solid effort as well as skill. That's not to say they haven't given a full effort on most nights, but most nights the opponent would have needed a season-best effort to beat them in Fort Wayne. That's not the case tonight.
