P.C. Drouin has signed; waiting on approval from the IHL on the contract.
Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock will make his decision on Wednesday; leaning toward returning.
Mathieu Curadeau is deciding between Kalamazoo and Fort Wayne. ``Sometimes when you win one or two in a row, you take it for granted, but they definitely are not,'' Curadeau said. "It could be a great challenge and a great fit for me."
David Franke said they are getting close to re-signing NIck Boucher and Guy Dupuis.
Still talking to Matt Syroczynski, Frankie DeAngelis, Sean O'Connor and Brandon Warner. He's going to talk to Tim Haun later this week. Did not offer a contract to Mitch Woods or put him on their protected list. The Komets have had a conversation with Rob Nolan but not Larry Sterling.
``I need some answers from some guys this week," Franke said. "I think by the end of this week or next week I'll have a better idea where we stand for sure. Once we get those decisions, then maybe I can get to the point where we're just looking for younger guys to come in. I feel very comfortable with where we're at right now.''

Thanks for the update Blake!
Some good, strong names in those paragraph's....
Curadeau returning would be a good thing. I would really like to see Schrock, O'Connor, DeAngelis return.
Boucher, Haun, Nolan.... How do you pick 2 out of those???
If Curadeau comes back, do we need Syro?
Dupuis coming back, I'm not so sure of... I know this will inflame a few on this board; but Dupuis has lost a step or two. He has been a phenominal D-man for the K's for many years; but we witnessed him take alot more penalties for holding/hooking, etc... last season and with the CHL being a faster and more stringently called game, I see Him spending alot of time in the box. May be time to let him go (as much as I hate to say that)...
Nolan!
All good information! Thanks Blake. I hope Curadeau picks the K's. I liked Nolan all season. He is very solid. I think he would be classified as a "development" player. Schock would make for a very quick line whoever he gets teamed with. The Team is looking pretty good. Now all we need is information on the "association" and a schedule. I can not worry about all the other teams, their marketing, sales, advertising or signings. They are business people and they know what needs to be done. It is their responsability to get it done.
Sooooo, David is waiting for Michael to call back and confirm the signing??? :)
Dennis, until the Komets are fulling committed to a league that has more than just a handful of teams it is in the Komets (and thier fans, IMO) best interest to be worrying how the others team in thE 'IHL' are marketing, advertising, etc... to continue to try and build a viable league. Player signings (which there has been one announced besides the K's) and how the endeavour will operate are 2 huge things that fans need to see (especially when it comes to STH's)... If Dayton and Bloomington have another poor showing, will they be around next season??? And how will that adversly affect the K's???
JR-This season is my concern. Absolutely no reason to worry about something like next season which none of us have any control over. For that matter neither does anyone else at this time. Those teams have signed on for this season and at this point that is all we really can concern ourselves with. We (you & I) can not market those teams or sign their players. I, like you are very concerned as to what this (association) or whatever it is going to be called looks like. The Komets are committed and I think that is good enough for me at this time. I will withold judgement on the product until I see some of it. The K's are looking pretty good so far and it is only July 12th. Let's get some ice and play! I guess I'll just have to wait until October for that! :)
Why not have Syro and Curadeau on the same team? Put them on the Schrock / O'Connor / Thomas / Druin / Petrosso / Naurato (hard to pick), Mironovic, Cescon line. That would be fun to watch.
The Ks can survive any league, that's why I'm puzzled they picked this one, so even if Dayton and Bloominton fold, they'll still be in good shape, as evidenced by their longevity.
The whole STH debacle is interesting. Even so, if you pay for STs you'll be sure to see one thing, the Ks play. Not sure about the ticket price justification however, ludicrous if you ask me.
Obviously the Komets may know something the average and emphasize the work AVERAGE fan does not know. If they think Guy should resign this year then so be it. He was critical in the playoff and championship and is a scoring defensemen. Plus leadership is something the Ks need right now. So lets not be so quick to judge decisions that we really know very little about.
I hope Woods signs with Dayton & beats up a komet :)
Teresa please check your email.
Will do!
Mightbite...it would be the first fight he has won in about 4 years.
Where does Curedeau live, and who's going with me to beg him to come back to F.W.?

Z.Anderson: We were thinking the same thing. He MIGHT be able to take Guy if he really lets himself go over the summer, or PC if he only gives it 70% effort...
Congrats for Mitch for winning a fight against a guy that had 72 pim.....too bad he played 43 games and had 5 points....not bad for a forward. Not like we could have kept Varone or even Klempa and gotten that production with better defense. If Im not mistaken even Woodard had more points as a d man. Good luck to Mitch in his future endeavors.

How is this? I know Mitch was not the same player as he was when he was here in 08-09.
07-08
Lets let Mitch ride off into his Canadian sunset with some dignity.
Hit Somebody's "Cart ahead of the Horse" Offseason lines:
Curadeau, Patrosso, Syrocynski
Leo, PC, OC
Naurato, Ward, Schrock
DeAngelis, Rodger
Mironovic, Dupuis
Phillips, Cescon
Boucher and Nolan
MacMillan and BWs?
Oh, and put me down for voting them pre-season IHL champs and preseason contenders for CHL Moniker Champs as well.
I think if that is the team, which if there are no other Big surprises that we don't know about coming to camp....This might be top to bottom the best roster we have seen, at least as good as. IMO.
Should be nice.
Cart before the horse? How about the whole dang buggy? LOL.
Well, there's no way they won't play DeAngelis and Warner together after last year's playoffs. It could be amazing to see what they could do together for a whole season.
You have to admit that the "Hit Somebody's Lines" was nice to read this early in the summer.
At least I am thinking ahead and dreaming of Komet Hockey.
I admit, BWs played great in the playoffs. Maybe he was finally healthy?
I still think my lines are strong. Very strong. Are you kidding me, they are dag-gone awesome baby!!!
It was. Now let's wait and see if it comes true. Until the name is on the dotted line, they are not signed yet. Just like during the season, they aren't here until they walk through the locker room door.
Count me as one who does not want to see Dupuis back next year....
Why not talk Tom Nemeth out of retirement?
Same player at this point.
Whoa....the Imaginary Elephant just went anti-Guy on us.
Someone get the thermometer out and check that boy's temperature....not the oral thermometer either....
Snuff is a negative nellie. Snuff is a negative nellie. Snuff is a Franke hater. Snuff is an IHL hater. Snuff is a Guy hater.
LMAO.
The only one who tells Guy to hang them up is Guy himself! After all he has done for this team and city, he deserves to call the shots.
I thought Elephants drank the Orange K-aterade.....
Looks like tonight they drink the Haterade.
Shocking Mr. Snuffunegativepugus!!!
yay!
