The first one about the schedule and its hassles is here.
The second one about Colin Chaulk's 3-on-3 tournament this Saturday is here. This sounds like a lot of fun just to go watch. There's going to be some tired kids after this. I suggested he let the winners take on Colin, Guy and P.C.
Gross misconduct blog foul on Burgee. Don't you know we're trying to attract people to the blog, not drive them away? And I really never was a little thinner. Wendy gets extra points for her picture, though.

Blake- Can Burgee join me in the box? It might be gettin a little crowded.
Some of us were fortunate enough to know Blake when he did have hair. Of course, if not for yearbook photos, my memory doesn't go back that far!
Of course some of you are the direct cause of losing some of it, too.
That sounds like something Hawthorne would call!
I'll make you all feel old--I knew Blake long before he knew how to spell, let alone write. I knew Blake when he followed Bud Gallmeyer around like a little lost puppy dog. Yes! he did have hair at one time. I'll just say this about Blake's hair. It not all his fault.
Thanks for the article links. The tournament sounds like fun, and I hope the Frankes can get a schedule they are reasonably happy with. As for the photo, aw, thanks Blake. I've thought about going as Silk Spectre this year, but I'd have to do a lot more jogging first! ;)
all of you go directly to the box while wendy and i go have a few cold ones!
Funny, chuckitt....nice picture, Wendy! I'm just guessing that Kevin Bertram crashed into the boards when he saw you? Just wondering....hoping for a blog foul....I would like to sit in the penalty box. For some reason, I feel the need to be a part of the team here! And what with the awesome Komet team we are building, I'm guessing that I'd be in good company in the sin bin....not that I'm complaining at all! ;)
Blueline Baby- You must be real sweaty and stinky. Plus be able to swear in at least French and English, Russian wouldn't hurt. If you can pass that test your more than welcome. Most likely Burgee will be the only guy (?) left there. He is serving a Gross Misconduct. The rest of us only minors for trying to impress someone. Most of us failed!
Very Interesting story on Bloomington's Robin Gomez. Now here is one of those "Goons" that gives hockey a bad name.
I sure hope my link works. The date of the story is 7/8/09.

bloomington vs Komets= lots of fights
Thats complete BS that something that happens on the ice goes to court. I don't agree with it at all. It happened on the ice it's settled on the ice not the court room. He's not a goon he's a hockey player, doing his job.
I'm not sure I agree, Me78. When do we get to the point where something can happen on the ice, but if it happens in the stands, someone gets arrested? What's the difference? At some point, breaking the law is breaking the law, right? Or what's the breaking point when it's too much? Interesting discussion.
I've read the article a couple of times now and still can't find a time for the start of the 3 on 3 Saturday. Are my eyes getting that old or is it not listed? So.... does anyone know what time it starts?
Thanks
My bad. It starts at 8 a.m. and pretty much goes all day.
When are they gonna charge a pitcher for hitting a guy with a ball? It's part of the game.
When are they gonna charge a linebacker for hitting a quarterback? It's part of the game....well maybe. The QB will eventually be untouchable and have flags attached to his waistband.....
Funny you should mention that Blueline Baby. My friend Cat kept joking about the same thing. But no. He never even saw me. No one ever does. Maybe with the high-heeled dominatix boots, I'd have better luck, eh?
I could imagine a situation where an incident in a game should result in actual criminal charges, but it would have to be pretty extreme -- I'm talking WELL outside the context of the game itself here. I seriously doubt anyone would be stupid enough to do something that flagrant with several thousand people watching, but you never know. This story, however, is ridiculous.
Funny you should mention that Wendy.....LOL! I AM Cat! I've crossed over to the "dark side"....having a blast over here. :)
And Dschebig, I am not stinky or sweaty, but I do speak a couple languages. Alas, neither of them French or Russian, although I'm trying to find a class in Russian. Or a player available to teach me. I'd be okay with that, and no, I'm not trying for a hookup, just language lessons!! I chickened out when I had my chance to ask Shaf earlier this week....what a baby I am. I'm normally not such a chicken, either. Oh well. Maybe next time!
A-ha! Well I guess I know where the "blueline" part comes in. How's the little defenseman doing?
Thanks Blake for the times.
Over the years there have been several times when criminal charges have been filed against hockey players, including manslaughter when a player was clubbed to death on the ice.
The case I'm most familiar with was State of Minnesota v Dave Forbes. Forbes hit Henry Boucha in the eye with his stick during a confrontation (1975) that cost Henry his eyesight in that eye and his career. Forbes was acquitted when the jury couldn't reach a verdict on aggravated assault charges. At the time I was running with Henry's younger brother Eddie who was skating with the Milwaukee Admirals.
Once sitting in the box a guy threw a gallon + beer on me I tried to hit him with my stick.
