Thanks for the one day notice.
Are you planning on going to some games, naif? I didn't figure it would matter to you since you supposedly are so against this level of hockey...
One day Notice pretty sure it gives you a month to get a ticket for the opener if you wanted to go.
One months notice give you about 2 weeks since the season opener sells out every year.
Heaven forbid that Blake doesn't give us bloggers a better notice. I bet the Coliseum/Komets didn't know when the for sure date would have been. Yes, the home opener sells out every year but news flash, this isn't the NHL where tickets will be sold out in 5 minutes. You will still be able to get decent tickets I'm sure still a week before the home opener.
Thanks, Blake. Only a one day notice is fine enough for me.
Yeah, what she said!
Actually, I have no control over when they announce things like that. I just pass them along. I also didn't take it that NAIF was jumping on me, either. But if he was... well, he'd just better start ducking! LOL.
No Blake it wasn't directed at you. I have decided to go to the home opener just to see for myself what the quality of the hockey is like. If I think it's ok then I plan on going to a few more this season. If it's like last season then I'll find something more entertaining to spend my money on.
Yeah, because you get such a true picture of what the skill level will be from the 1st game of the year. The teams have had so much time to play together in camp....
Like I wrote on here a few weeks ago after calling the coliseum they stated that tickets would go on sale the middle to end of September. I called again last Friday and was informed that it would be the 16th. Maybe I should have posted this but they were right. Its only 30 days until opening night. Got the seats I love today: front row middle section upper deck where you can see EVERYTHING on the ice with no one or thing in front of you. I plan on going to about 15 games this year not counting playoffs. I wish they sold season tickets in upper deck. I did ask the ticket office why they didn't they told me that people would get those seat prices then move lower. Maybe so, but I wouldn't. Thats such BS.
A nice Q & A on the CHL's website with Komets coach Al Sims....

I picked up an extra seat next to my season tickets so I can invite a guest, or use it as a $10 coat hanger.
Thanks for the heads up JR.
Noticed a couple familiar names on the Maple Leaf's training camp roster.... Congrats to Justin Hodgman and Mike Liambas...
Just talked to Hodgy yesterday. He's doing well.
Liambas should be in jail not on a hockey team...
R.I.P. Pat Burns.
An interesting article on Liambas' return: http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/nhl/mapleleafs/article/859635--liambas-tries-to-skate-away-from-his-past

I still think it was a legal hit, shoulder to shoulder. Reading some of the comments posted on both videos and it seems most in Canada agree. A sad and unfortunate event but it's part of the risk.
According to the online version of the Toronto Sun, Pat's son says he is still alive as of 12:23 PM....................
Awaiting moderation? What did I do???
hate to tell you snuff.. but all the the hits that created the controversy surrounding liambas.. were CLEAN hits... even the most brutal hit that got him suspended from jrs was a clean hit.. was it a responsible hit? probably not.. but by the rule book, it was deemed clean. even the people responsible for administring the punishment said it was clean and within the rules.. it just wasnt responsible.
Brian we will agree to disagree. And Liambas has had other off the ice issues known around OHL circles. This is a bad kid.
Jail?
C'mon Snuff.. I was starting to think you were a reasonable guy.
As I said...known around OHL circles this is not a good kid. The on ice stuff combined with the off ice stuff...yes jail. We'll see where he is in 5 years. Hopefully scooping up manure with Robin Big Snake.
Nuff said.
Thankfully the news media reports of Pat Burns death were incorrect though his health is failing quickly and he was sent home from hospital declining any further treatment and is in grave health.
Komets wanted Liambas a couple of years ago
You have to love how the punk instead of being thankful for getting a chance to play, called Bloomington "the middle of nowhere". Yeah, really classy statement by someone who should have been on his knees thanking the Thunder for taking him on.
Knowing what I know about this kid it doesn't surprise me and I don't buy his claims of remourse for anything. What he and his family is, is very afraid of the civil lawsuits that will come down the road if he makes any real money.
All of the above said... this is still a kid and people can and do change and grow up. But when I read snide comments like he made about Bloomington it doesn't tell me that he really has changed. Brian Burke won't put up with crap so if the kid steps a toe over the line he'll be kicked to the curb. We'll see....
Brian Burke also loves this style of player and thats probably why he's in camp...
Also, for someone who goes crazy whenever somebody personally attacks a Komet player or the Komet front office, you sure are more than willing to attack a player you dont like.....
Pot, meet Kettle......
One should practice what they preach....
Keep practicing...maybe one day you'll get it.

Hey Guys......
Is this Liambas kid the same one we saw play in the IHL??? Is he even that good of a player? Really? I remember being vastly unimpressed by his play. To the point he wasn't noticed on the ice, or even in the stat that often.
What do they see in him anyway?
Maybe I am way off here, I would love to hear what you guys think. Because I didn't see a NHL, AHL, ECHL, or even above average IHL player in this kid.
Seriously JR, you aren't going to bait me. My suggestion to you (and anyone else who likes to attempt to instigate something with me) is to simply skim over my posts without reading them. You know you aren't going to probably like what I have to say anyway. And the lectures and commentary about my postings only make me laugh and bring nothing of value to the discussion and create extra grief for Blake. I made the mistake of responding to your post above about the player in question. I should have known my response would turn into a JR lecture. It won't happen again.
Goodnight.
