Tailing the Komets

Today's preview

Can be read here.

Another big key to the series: The Komets have shown a trend of falling behind early of late and then roaring back. They can't do that in this series. Also, anybody want to bet Nick Bootland is playing the "They have three all-stars and we don't have anybody" card?

Wow, way to make me feel out of the loop...the "what" card?

You're right Blake. The Komets have shown a trend of falling behind early and then coming back strong. I've posted before that this tendency will eventually catch up to a team even if they are superior. Look, the secret is defense. Play your man on every shift. The trick to that is that it takes discipline to do it. No one can take a shift off. I have posted repeatedly that I would take our forwards ( as a group) over any other squad in the league. I believe that our defensemen are very solid and the goaltending is a real plus. Two things concern me however. One is that the power play has been so inconsistent all year. (Even before P.C. Druin went down). No one in front of the net and always looking for the perfect pass. The power play must be there for the K's to advance. The second concern is the fact that sometimes they start out so slow. They need to take it to Kalamazoo from the opening faceoff, forecheck, and try to capitalize on mistakes and turnovers. Get the crowd into the game. Sorry, everybody for the long post. It's just that I don't want anybody to take Kalamazoo lightly.
