They lost some of the chemistry on the top line with Shafranov's departure, so I would hate to see them break up another lines chemistry by moving O'Connor off that line with Drouin and Thomas...

Did anyone else go to the STH openhouse last night....oh wait..maybe I should say where in the world were all the season ticket holders last night?? I was a bit disappointed with the turn out. Watching the guys practice and have fun out there was kinda fun, watching Shaf get knocked over and then turn over and get in a gun shooting stance and shoot his teammate was priceless. It was nice to see a different side of practice...and then to hear Coach go around and ask the players where practice is tomorrow was funny. All the guys were willing to sit and chat and get pictures/autographs...It was a nice event...it would have been nice for our 3000+ STH to show up.

I don't think there was a lot of interest in the event. Watching the team practice doesn't really allow for the experience that some STH's hope to get. I rarely go to any of the events, but I know a lot of people were dissappointed that the "party" was a practice.

Yeah, a practice wouldnt be something I would adjust my schedule for if I were still a STH...

Whatever owners are helping prop up the Generals this year have dropped the ball. I'ts ridiculous that players are buying thier own equipment, not getting travel money, getting eviction notices, etc... Shame on "whomever" is not taking care of thier responsibilities to these players.
Why hasnt the league stepped in like they did earlier in the season with Dayton???

I'd be interested in the answer to this question....what all do the players supply, if any, of their equipment? I know that PC had some shorts on a few weeks ago in a game that were in serious need of repair, and I have a friend who is a delivery driver who has delivered sticks and gloves to more than one player directly to their homes. I was just wondering, does the team actually pay for all of that stuff, or do the players pay for any of their own things at all?

Great interviews! Both were pretty funny. Anyone else notice that Warner couldn't even get the water he was squirting on target??
As far as the STH "party" question... Jungle pretty much made my point for me. A practice?? Seriously, could something be whipped up in a little bit less time just for the sake of saying you had a STH event? I guess we're lucky then, since we have the opportunity to get to the games half an hour early and have a "STH event" when we get to watch the team warm up/practice before the games. Best part is, on those nights there are TWO teams! Maybe next year, the event can be "Walk a Komet to His Car after a Game".

Team pays for it all, but each player also has their own connections they can use to get equipment.

I don't know why any of the "small talk" would be awkward? I guess I'm not as star struck as others when talking to these guys... I've talked with Legault and Mac several times while sitting in the stands and have bumped into Guy, Huk, and P.C. other times in either the Komets office or through business around town. They are people just like the rest of us and I have yet to meet one who doesn't seem to have the time to chat for a couple of minutes. Granted, I don't know any of them as well as some of the others on here (I doubt they'd know me from Adam), but as far as going up and talking to them, I don't really see that as all too big of a deal.

FW, most of the guys are extremely nice with the fans, no question about that. Kids in particular. It's always great to see that.
Thanks, Blake for answering my questions. I always wondered. I hoped that they would not be required to buy their own stuff on those small paychecks!

Hell, I am in hiding, you think I would show-up to their practice??? They would have duck-taped goalie equipment to me and used me as a target, called me Larry, and ran me out of the goal all night long. No way man.....no way. LOL

To me the most discouraging thing I've seen lately is Savage's article on Flint. For some reason I though things were going better then that.
I've been figuring about a 75% chance the IHL would be around next season. That percentage just dropped a bunch. It was a great idea, maybe not just the right time for it.
I think the skill we see now is better because of veterans but perhaps the ECHL is the best for now. I don't see how Flint can make it in any league at this point. I do hurt for them because I can't imaging Fort Wayne without the Komets and I'm sure there are fans in Flint who feel the same about the Generals.

This what alot of us having been saying....well, for months now. It has been the chatter out there, and now it is coming to the surface for everyone to see. We shall see what happens next. But I can't see how the IHL survives.

What's with the "star struck" nonsense, FW? Where did you get that from? Fact is, if I were making small talk with you, whoever you are, it would be awkward. I've never been able to just start talking with someone I don't know and not want to run for the door the entire time. Social events just seem contrived to me, but that's me.

Becky, there were no invitations sent out to STH's. I only knew about it because I saw it on the Komets website. As previously stated, it was "thrown" together at the last minute since the "Dinner With a Komet" didn't go over too well. Obviously, not enough publicity about either event. That was hillarious.....he was dodging stuff and trying to talk to Glenn.
Hey GREG, I think Boucher was shooting pucks and stuff at him.....LOL
The PC interview is funny too.
Al Sims might have gave a hint on the lines. He said that Hodgman is used to playing with Chaulk and OC.....hmmmm.
That would be interesting.
Chaulk, OC, Hodgy
Leo, PC, Syro?
Huk, Schrock, Chewy?
We will find out friday.
