Komets should have been up 5-0 after the first five minutes but continually just flat missed the net. And then they missed any hint of a consistent effort the rest of the game. On Dayton's two goals, the shooters were so wide open they could have lined up a putt. How do you go from your best game of the season on the road on Sunday to your worst performance of the season at home on Wednesday.
Coach Al Sims named some names after the game which I'll share with you shortly.

woods, schrock and mac are doing the hitting so the rest of the komets figured they didnt have to throw any checks. this proves that everyone needs to take the body. we too often play down to the level of the team we are playing. dayton is by far an inferior team and all we had to do was be physical and then crash the net. pretty simple but lost on our guys at this time.
WOW! What a game ...
This article described the game perfectly in only the title, no more words were necessary. thanks for writing them yes, but the title was is an excellent description in and of itself. Come on guys, lets bounce back friday and do to Port Huron what we should have done to Dayton tonight!!
that is suppose to read ... "We were just disappointed in this year .....
hmmm ... "we were just disappointed in (insert komet player) this year ....
So what your saying Puck Bunny..is we lost tonight because they let Varone go last week....get over yourself! They didnt win tonight because players did not bury their chances. Period!
Varone has played 4 games with Bloomington, he has 1 assist and is a minus 3, How on earth did we let one of out top players go? Seriously!
EXACTLY! it's about "PLAYERS" .. not a player! I'm not saying they lost tonight because they let Varone go ... it's a MUCH bigger problem then that Janice!
Blake, welcome to the Nellie club!!!!!
We got Blake, we got Blake, we got Blake!!!!! Woohooo!!!
No joke, JR. I can't wait to hear all the positives from this game and why Blake is such a Negative Nellie now that he has made some OBVIOUS observations... Please Positive Patties, insert all the good news here:
Positive Patties....LOL... Oh goodness, your in for it now FW...
Here is something positive...
Blake can wear a hockey helmet without having to worry about getting "helmet hair" ;)
Wow, good one Snuff! Now go buy your wife another cat. LOL. But I have to wear something or I get frostbite on my reverse mohawk.
The Lull got us.
Positive Patties.....LMAO....good one.
The team put this thing on cruise control tonight after they made it to the 3rd period and missed so many empty net chances. I saw no urgency, no hitting, and no one taking charge out there.....I will say Leo played hard as heck, Schrock always does, but not enough guys willing to lay it on the line.
It was one loss I know, but it was a really bad loss. One they shouldn't have given away for sure.
Komets was enjoying $2.50 beers./ #9 of dayton was working hard all night./ what happened to Parker?
Parker took a hike! Same as Big Snake!
Pretty tame crowd also. I know there really wasn't much to watch. Kind of sad when the play on the ice can lull a crowd to sleep on discount beer night.
pitifull game to spend your 10th wedding annivesary=but will be in the Bahamas in May
Parker signed in LNAH or also know as the "Dumb-Dumb" League. He got a pretty good pay raise
Pretty cool story to read after a down hockey night in Fort Wayne...

on a positive note we are still in third place and not too far out witha very good team that if it ever wakes up will win it all! contructive criticisim is a lot different than someone being negative about every aspect and every blog.
Mightbite, I hope you had more "action" last night on your 10th wedding anniversary than the Komets did on the ice.
AAAAAAAAahahahahahahahah! Hopefully Syro's ailment of not being able to find the net didn't spread to Mightbite's night after the game...
Wow the PG13 meter is being tested here lol.
Blake...she doesn't need a cat when she married a TIGER lol
Thanks for the link FW, cool article.
Janice, I am a Mitch Woods fan but what happened with Varone can happen with Woods. We loved Woods two years ago but can he be the same player as then? Varone is getting knocked because he was lacking points and for not being the same player as last year...the tables might turn! Syro has been on and off with his play...wonder if he is getting slack about that? We need to worry about not playing in the playoffs the way the K's did tonight. Lets hope that we don't shoot ourselves in the foot about Varone. Our fighters on the team are not going to win us a championship....so I say, LETS GO VETS!!!!
While I'm still awaiting ANY sign that Woods wasn't the most overhyped Komet signing in history...(at least the night Fletch came back he actually took someone off the ice with him) didn't we already have a part-time/2-3 shifts a period/always punching uphill guy on the team in the underused MacMillan? Now with Rodger being hurt, Mac moved two spots up on the depth chart!
Nothing against Mitch, I'm sure he's a great guy and if I were him, I'd have jumped at the chance to play again, but signing him DOES NOTHING to solve this teams problems! It's not making a dramatic boost to the physical play, it's not firing up the crowd, and if it was to boost Syro...he's played his worst hockey of the year since his buddy got here and suddenly HE'S the team fighter!
Last night was the kind of "night off" and "we can turn it on whenever we want" mentality that only comes from a team where everyone is too comfortable with their position on the team and their past laurels. If they don't do something FAST to shake this team up and find a constant spark, we're a one-win-and-out team come playoff time.
Losses happen and are acceptible, last night...wasn't!
It should be a good game Friday. Hawks losing badly Sunday to the Komets and the Komets coming off a
Go Hawks Go, I wouldn't call losing 4-2 bad. But on the other hand when your boys trounced the Komets 6-1, thats losing badly.
