How 'bout making great friends, both at the games and online? :)
The organ player that preceded Jack Loos........Norm Carrol....not really sure on the last name spelling Blake.
How about...
"HE Shoots, He SCOOOOORRRRRREEEEEEESSSSSS!"
"Go Komet" signs around town
"L-A-R-R-Y!!!"
STH's Policing our own section since the ushers won't
Hating one guy on the team just cause
The games being a family outing, not just a hockey game
Being a family with the other fans in your section...which leads me to the "Section 204" portion of this list
"Nacho, Security, The guy that twirls that girls hair all game, yelling SIT DOWN!, slow clap, having different nick names for the players (Shaffy Taffy, THE Prophet, Cheeseburger, New Guy, P Sizzle...) trying to figure out if the girl with that guy is is sister or girlfriend, checking out the women without getting caught by the wives but really getting caught every time, watching my son dance every night to "Welcome to the Jungle," Yelling "Too Many Men" and getting it called, listening to Grandpa yell "COME-ON!" after every close call, Being the first to get the "LARRY" chant going, and so much more....
What about.....bloggers and musical chairs and seeing Hoss Cheat....or pop chairs for that matter.
I feel so loved to make the list....Now I need to go think about the sign...
the jersey auctions & the prices they go for .
Grandpa 1 sitting along the glass.
Icy showing no mercy with a little tot hanging off the back of the Polaris for dear life.
Yelling at the newbies who somehow snuck past the crack team of Red Coats and walked in as soon as the puck dropped to find their seats.
and my favorite advertisment of all time that I hope NEVER gets discontinued, and by NEVER, I sure hope it isn't next game or sooner: Watching Paint Dry.
FW, I forgot Grandpa 1! Good call! I talked to him at the game a few weeks ago and said I was so happy he was back at the games and he seemed like he didn't know anyone knew he was gone. I told him many of the Komets fans look for him every game and love seeing him wearing his helmet and yelling all game long.
The way the Komet Family along with Komet Nation remembers those who have given a lifetime of commitment and or service to the Komet Hockey Club. Second to no one!
It's Playoff Hockey Night in Fort Wayne!
The nice STHers in 215 that yell at me for not yelling and " When i get old and i cant see i want to be a referee"
Oh and yelling " Yea what he said" When someone yells and no one has a clue what he said!
Re-dic-u-lous Mouse Ears!
Listening to Chaser call a game while sitting in GITMO.
Listening to Chaser call a game while sitting off the coast of Iceland.
Listening to Chaser call games while living in Wisconsin, having to go out to the car because for some reason the radio in the apartment wouldn't pick up WOWO.
Listening to Chaser call games while living in the UP, not to far from where he grew up.
Staying at a motel in Michigan and having a family from Toronto recognize the Komet logo on the front license plate and relate how they watched the Komets vs Peoria Turner Cup series on satellite because the NHL players were locked out.
Going to a Predators game and have what seems like a hundred people recognize the Komets from the cap I'm wearing.
The number of former Komets still living here.
Guess I'll stop at that, I can think of many more that I could add to the list but they get more personal and probably don't apply.
Hit Somebody!!! :)
How about Dick and Flossie Zimmerman.
Foo foo drinks
Schebig asking the refs the questions we all want answered
Red headed hockey chicks
Being able to watch Jimmie Hawthorn work his magic
Ice scraper night
Running into 1 of the 25,000 fans who claim they were at the last cup clinching game last year, my tickets are framed, where's yours!
Blake getting permission to change this blogs name to Failing the Komets for all the negativity that goes on on blogs.....
Steve, I can relate to a couple of those things. 3 years ago we decided to take in a couple Hurricanes game during spring break, after the game we got to the car and got the game, drove around a Target parking lot thinking we were going to get arrested for casing the joint. lol. It was the last game of the season and we were down in the 3rd, listening to Chase call the game was priceless. We ended up winning that game, the Regular Season Championship and the Turner Cup!
We also took in a Predators game about a month ago we wore Komet gear, Lots of people made comments about Fort Wayne and the Komets. It was great.
This is a little OT but why isn't the Coliseum using the new Zamboni they just bought. I have seen them use the new one once since the college games and it was after the game was over. Just curious...
Eric, they are working out sponsorship details.
'Rock and Roll part 2' in the playoffs
The original Komets' flag in 211 ;-)
how about komet cheerleaders, old section one and vince and chuck getting snockered every game before alcohol was allowed!
Thank you, burgee.
Yes Wendy, it is nice to have a "Pill popping, Foo Foo drinkng Suntan cooked Old Fart" remember us. At least you!
ahh... that makes sense
Thanks Blake
"SUCKS!" "THEY ALL SUCK!" being yelled during the opposing teams introductions
Yelling "The line doesn't move!" when Peter Cichy and his band of brothers blow an offsides call
Reading the hypocrisy of certain bloggers who call others negative nellies, yet post more negativity-laced posts than other observant fans throughout the season.
Well said Frozen Water, well said!
Like Steve, listening to Chaser in the UP - thank you internet comcast - closing my eyes and smelling Coliseum popcorn again.
Getting schmucked in the side of the head with a puck - Thank You Robo
Speaking of the popcorn smell, does anyone else notice that distinctive Coliseum smell? I know all buildings have it, but the Coliseum... Well, I could tell you I was there if it was dead silent and I was blindfolded. You just know it when you walk into the arena.
