Another question. How can you call a hooking and a diving on the same play?

It's an embellishment issue.
Actually, IMO, it's a stupid rule the NHL implemented several years ago to discourage diving, even on legitimate hooking and tripping plays.
It makes about as much sense as calling a ball AND a strike on the same pitch in baseball; safe AND out on the same play; a charge AND a block in basketball and a complete AND incomplete pass in football.
Remember, this is coming down from the NHL. Just about says it all.

Just to add another cent to my two cents ...
IMO, if you're going to call the dive, don't call the other penalty. If you're going to call the penalty, don't call the dive.

The entire team played really well tonight. Moved the puck well, skated well and it seemed at times the Komets had 8 players on the ice. Blocking passes not allowing many shots. They pretty much dictated play most of the game. Nick played great and Mele was Mr. Hustle tonight. To be totally honest, the Rush are lucky the score wasn't about 8-0 after 2 periods. The Komets improved greatly from last week. I know its only 3 games but you can really see the team starting to play well together. Diving call on Apod was stupid but the refs called a decent game for once. Great game Komets.

Great game for the K's... They looked great for 2 periods ; but took their foot off the gas a little there in the third... They look to have alot more confidence out there, were getting sticks and bodies into the passing lanes on defense and they used the boards alot more in their passing game.
