I need to tread lightly here, but I have a question.
What is the status of Leo Thomas? Is he active? Is he on the IR? Is he on some special active but unable to play list? In his absence do the Komets have to play short?
If you believe the press reports he was granted a leave by the CHL on January 24th. It was reported he went home to Toronto but returned 5-6 days later to Fort Wayne. Since then he has been a scratch.
Whatever the reason, physical, emotional, family, is none of my business. I just want to know how it affects the roster.
The seemingly abrupt nature of his leaving for Toronto, and then the unusual "quiet" from the press surrounding his return to being active on the ice, give me pause.
I have been a critic of his play most of the season. Saying that, however, doesn't mean that I don't wish the very best for him.
Is there something you can report to us without compromising your responsibilities, Blake? I suspect that there is a lot to this as it appears that this may be a tender situation. The Komets seem to be very careful on their handling of the matter.
I know I may be asking you to walk a tightrope on this Blake. Thanks.

Thanks Alan. I was thinking the same things but couldn't figure out how to ask Blake as well as you did.

Very nice tip-toeing, Alan. LOL.
Leo is healthy and is ready to go. He left on leave for a legitimate, private reason which will remain private, at least on here out of respect to him. If he was a member of the Colts making $500,000 it might be a different matter, but it's not. He has returned and has been skating with the team. The issue has been resolved.
The problem for Leo is, whom do you take out of the lineup when everyone is healthy and they are playing so well right now? And of course, as soon as you do that, someone else would get hurt and then you would be in a hole playing short for a while.
As it is, he's essentially being held in reserve in case someone gets hurt, which with so many games in so few days, someone inevitably will.

Now, Alan, THAT's some fancy tight-roping. LOL.
