Back in the early '90s about the only forum around strictly for IHL hockey fans was on AOL. It was a lot of fun exchanging messages and having discussions with not only other IHL fans and team employees, but at times family members of the players. It was through that forum that I met Grant Richison's father.
At the same time there was one for hockey in Great Britain that I would follow just because the fans were so polite and friendly towards each other. There was no radio or TV coverage of the games as we knew it here so a lot of the fans relied upon the other team's fans to critique the game for them. I still remember one post that started out, "Your chaps played rather well".
