If you've never read Blake's book on Bob Chase, you may want to now. Wonderful story about the man, his life and so many, many recollections of hockey in general and the Komets in particular.
The Komets are about to enter their 61st season with Bob Chase calling the play for most of those years. They are both valuable assets to our city. In fact, I think it would be safe and proper to ask the question, where would Fort Wayne be without both of them?

WOW! This could not happen to a nicer human being. Such an outstanding man who would be the first to give a lot of credit to his loving wife Murph. He has given so much to Komet Hockey and the City of Fort Wayne. His years at WOWO put that station and hockey in the living rooms of most of America. I could not be happier for him. Tha NHL this 100% right. Now can they get their contract worked out with the players so the season can go on?

When you think of the impact Bob has had over the past 59 years, every hockey fan owes him a big thanks for making hockey what it is today (whether at AA, AAA, or NHL level).
Bob is 1 in a million and Fort Wayne is lucky to call him one of their own.
