Good for Charlie Effinger!  His shutout win last night lowered his GAA to 2.40 and placed him within the top sixteen goaltenders in the league.

Todd Robinson, of Evansville, has 3 assists this season and a minus-7.

If not for the Reading Royals and the Evansville Icemen, the Komets would rank last in goals scored in their conference.  Management has got to find some scoring somewhere (Europe?).  You can't depend on Marino night in and night out.  By the way, it is now six games and the line of Schrock-Rizk-Thorne still has exactly 0 points between them.

The Komets played better last night than on Friday, but from my seat I think Gwinett is the better team.  They seem to have the ability to move the puck with ease. The Komets seem to struggle.

Brittain seems to know what to do with the puck, but Kennedy doesn't impress me.

Kudos for the team's defense, especially when short-handed.  Five on three's and four minute minors will kill you but the K's survived last night.

All the K's need is scoring, and that was, supposedly, a strong area coming into the season.  2.33 goals a game isn't going to "cut it".  Same story, different season.

While I agree that the Koemts need scoring badly, I disagree that it's all they need.  Clearly being outshot every night is a cause for concern and would indicate they are also lacking in other areas....

Alan, info agree with you that we need some more offense. The line of schrock, Rizk, and Thorne has always been defense first. Thorne and Schrock are our two best offense defensive players in my opinion. Just watch them in the nuetral zone. Why do you think Sims puts them out against the other teams top line night in and night out? I do agree that they need to attribute more offensively, especially Rizk. But these guys played a whole year last year together and if it wasn't for their line in the playoffs we wouldn't have raised the cup and they wouldn't all be back. Also, it has only been 6 games. They got speed, they work the board systems very well and they will get points. You can't expect every player to put Marinos points in just 6 games. We got a whole season to play and in my opinion they should be out there on the ice 30-40% of the game. They attribute in every aspect of the game. They fight, they hit, they clog the nuetral zone, they cause break always, they screen, they shoot, and they sacfrice there body's in front of opponents and pucks. That is what makes a great player and a great team. Just my opinion.

Any way you slice it, the Komets need more balanced scoring...and that includes getting the third line going offensively.

It's hard to judge how good or bad any team is in any sport in the course of a few games.  I'm no expert, but I would contend it would take a little longer than six games to determine just how good or bad this Komet team is.  New league, new teams, new faces...everything is pretty dynamic right now and that takes adjusting no matter who you are.  To sit there and say this needs to happen or that needs to happen is pretty comical because when it comes down to it the owners and the coaches aren't going to listen, they're going to do what they feel is best regardless of what is posted.  But keep it up, it is entertaining...
